Talk! - 3

As I'm going back into the bathroom I can't help but hear Dean talking very quietly. A little strange I must admit as he's alone. But I did read a book once about how humans sometimes talk to themselves when they feel lonely or sad. But Dean isn't really lonely, he's got me and Sam. Well, he doesn't really talk to me but Sam at least. So why would he be sad? He only seems angry to me. I continue going to the bathroom and pick up my clothes. When I was an angel I didn't really need a room as sleep never was an issue. But since I turned human I got the smaller room that Kevin sometimes used to stay in.

I walk into the room and sit down on the bed. I'm not sure if I'm really getting much better but I can't really get it checked up as all the angels are busy and the human doctors wouldn't really understand the situation. I lie down and look up. My back is feeling very exposed even though it's covered with a flannel and on the bed but where two wings should be, none are. I've tried to look at the situation from a better perspective, like the fact that now I don't have to leave Sam and Dean, heaven's drama isn't in my hands and the fact that I'll finally get the chance to rest soon. But I have been an angel for so long, I got used to it. And it wasn't really all bad being an angel. But I can't do much now so I might as well just get used to it. The only thing I can change is Dean not talking to me but I'm not sure how I'll change that. He can be very stubborn at times. I figure I could go back to Sam, he's been very supportive all this time. I appreciate that. He's always been the most of a brother to me, I care for Dean of course but he can be so annoying and carefree.

I stand up and get going to Sam but just as I do so, my mind goes blank and I start sweating- I black out.

-----------------------------------------

A loud sound is heard from Cas room, I run there and see Sam already at the doorknob. Cas is on the floor.

Sam kneels down "Hey, Cas!" he says in a loud voice.

Cas doesn't reply but he opens his eyes.

"You okay buddy?" I ask and feel the worry growing in my stomach.

Cas coughs "Yeah I'm fine" but as he says so he touches his head and wheezes. Crap.

"Yeah no, you're not fine. You should probably just rest" Sam says and helps Cas get to his feet. I put Cas arm over my shoulder and Sammy does the same with his other one. We get him to lie down in his bed. He falls asleep quite quickly.

I look at Cas "Do you know what happened?" I ask Sam.

"Probably his blood pressure that sunk, it's quite usual." Sam looks down at Cas as well, he squints a little with his eyes like he does when he's worried. "But then again it can just as well be something that involves this angel thing"

I look down at Cas and sigh. That god damn human. I'm not sure how he gets through it, how much willpower he must have. I exit the room because I can't look at Cas anymore but also because it reminds me of Kevin and I can't handle all that at once. Sam joins me on the way back. I don't want to go back to my room so I walk to the library. I wouldn't say that the books we have there are too interesting but sometimes you find a good one. I look at a bookshelf, just quickly reading the book titles to see if there are any I recognize or have heard about. My eyes stop at one, "The hobbit, J.R.R Tolkien" I didn't even know we had that book. I take it down and look at the back of it. I smile a little at the memory of Charlie. I miss her, I miss Kevin and I miss my mum. And so I realise I can't stay mad at Cas. He isn't dead, he's still him. I'm not going to lose anybody else. Just as I think those exact words Cas enters the room.

"Dean.." He coughs. "Can we talk?"

"Damn it Cas, you should be in bed."

I take his hand over my shoulder again and start half-carrying him to his room. Cas limbs into his room and I place him down on the bed. He wheezes a little again.

"Dean... I wanted to talk to you" Cas says and I can tell that he's in pain.

"Sure Cas what is it?" I grab a chair and sit down, technically the wrong way around as my chest is touching the back of the chair.

Cas sits himself up at a 90-degree angle with his back against the wall "Have I done something wrong, Dean?"

"What do you mean?" Even though I am very certain about what he's on about.

"Have you been ignoring me?"

"Cas look" I laugh a little "This entire turning human thing, it's not really my area. I might have reacted a little weird but that's all over now" as I say those last words I let my arms fall to the ground because there's no point in being cross anymore.

"Are you sure?" Cas says and falls back with his head onto the pillow.

I think about how much Cas has screwed things up and I'm about to say no for a second. But then I remember Charlie. "Completely, now you should rest, just call if you need anything"

"Why do people keep wanting to help me with easy things such as showers and sleeping?"

"I don't know Cas"

I walk back out into the library and see Sam sitting with his face over his laptop. He doesn't seem to notice me entering the room.

"Anything new?" I ask and Sam looks up as I sit down.

"Not really no, angels and demons seem to be quite busy right now"

"Heard anything from Crowley?" I say while taking a sip from his beer.

"Dude you can't just- no I haven't and give me my beer back" he snatches his beer from my hand.

A thought suddenly comes to my mind.

"Hey if demons and angels are fighting, shouldn't there be massive impacts on the earth?"

"Well," Sam scrolls a little on his computer. "There is the sudden drop of temperature but apart from that I think they're trying to keep this to themselves for once"

"I thought that was because it's November?"

"So did I, but I looked at the statistics and the temperature hasn't dropped this quickly in a very long while and nobody predicted it."

"Huh, manners finally got to them. Not complaining though" I raise my eyebrows a little.

"So about what I asked you a couple of days ago..." Sam looks at me with a sad smile.

"I 've thought about it and I will" I roll my eyes "probably do it sometime soon" as I say those words Sammy's smile turns from a sad one to a genuine one.

"Good, anyways what did you and Cas talk about? I took some time." Sam says and jiggles his eyebrows a little.

"Sam no. Just don't" I make a disturbed face and Sam actually stops and laughs "and for your information, it was just a talk"
