Mason makes sure that I never forget

We sprinted down the stairs. It didn't take long before we were submerged into a sea of neon half naked people, all running down the stairs. Somebody must have heard that the cops were coming.

We ran with the crowd down the stairs. Not once did Mason let go of my hand. I was happy that he didn't. He was able to maneuver through the crowd a lot easier than I could of. Plus, it was comforting to know that he was by my side.

I had a feeling that Sky was already to the car. She was probably the first one through the door as soon as she heard that the cops were on their way. I just hoped that she hadn't driven away, leaving me in the dust.

Mason seemed to be having his own problems as well. "I came here in a cab," he admitted. "I'm not going to have enough time to call before somebody sticks handcuffs on me."

"You can come with us," I said, a little too quickly.

Mason looked up and smiled at me. His blue eyes seemed to glow. "Thanks. I appreciate it."

I smiled back. "Well, we are part of the same world. We can't leave each other behind, right?"

We reached the parking lot. I almost got run over three times. Everybody was speeding away, trying to disappear before the police arrived. Others were diving in any car that they could get into.

I was relieved to see that Sky hadn't pulled away. I was actually impressed by her. It's pretty brave to not put your keys in the ignition, even though the volume of sirens was rapidly increasing by the second.

"Get in the back," I ordered Mason.

"Cool beans," Mason replied. He opened the back door and plopped down inside as I got in the front.

Before I could even get a word out, Sky's attention was already one hundred percent on Mason. She was pointing at him. Her finger was so close to him she was practically touching his nose. And she was staring at him like he was the spawn of Satan.

"WOAH! WOAH! WOAH!" She cried. Her face was as red as her hair. "WHO IS THIS?"

"Mason," I told.

Mason gave her a chill nod. "Sup."

"Don't sup me," Sky hissed. "Chloe, the rules of the road state that a new driver is only allowed to have ONLY one non relative present in the car while driving. Neither of you are related to me!"

I couldn't help but roll my eyes. "Sky, we don't have time for this!"

"No! Chloe, he needs to leave! I'm already not supposed to be driving passed 11:00! Its 12:01!"

I couldn't help but look back at Mason. "Woops. Looks like I already broke curfew."

Mason gave an amused laugh. Sky didn't find it funny. "CHLOE! I've already broken one rule tonight! I'm not breaking another one!"

I slapped my hand on my forehead. "Sky, I swear to God if you don't step on the gas pedal right now I will literally call the cops on you myself and let them know that you were at a party with alcohol even though you are underage. I'm sure that won't look good on your college applications."

Sky opened her mouth but said nothing. I knew that I had got her. Instead of protesting, Sky put the keys in the ignition. I looked back at Mason and gave him a wink, which he returned with his own.
