I don't take the bus

"Did you girls have a nice night?" Robin asked.

Her words jolted me awake. I woke up to find myself lying on the covers of my bed, still in my clothes from yesterday. Drool was dripping onto my pillow.

Sky was on the ground. She woke up at the same time as I did. Her red hair was thrown over her face and her glasses were askew. "What...?" She muttered before cutting herself off with a big yawn.

Ned and Robin were standing at my door. Robin looked furious, while Ned stood behind her with a scowl on his face. They must have figured out that we snuck out last night.

I gave them a cunning smile. "Morning!"

Ned and Robin didn't seem amused. "Chloe, did you remember that you were grounded?"

"No," I lied. My eyes wondered over to Sky, who was biting at her nails. I was worried that she was actually going to chomp off a finger. "I don't think I was ever grounded. Besides I was here, studying history."

"You said you were studying calculus," Ned reminded.

"That's what I said." Ok, now I was just trying to get on their nerves. "But that's not the point. We were studying. Right Sky?" Sky just nodded and made some uncomfortable whimpering noise.

"For God's sake, Chloe!" Robin hissed. "I saw you at that party! As soon as my squad car pulled in, I saw you and Sky pull out of there!"

"It wasn't my idea!" Sky squealed. "I was forced! Chloe made me! Please don't arrest me, Mrs. Baker!"

Robin and I rolled our eyes at the same time. Even though we were both on different sides, we were both equally annoyed with Sky at the moment.

"Sky, no one is mad at you," Ned sighed. "But I think you should go. Come on, I'll walk you out."

Sky got up and followed Ned out of the door. Before she was completely gone, she gave me a small wave. I gave her a nod in return, "I still owe you."

"I know," Sky muttered before Ned closed the door, leaving me trapped with the beast that is my Aunt Robin.

"Ok," I said. "You should probably go now."

Robin just shook her head. I don't think I have ever seen her this angry before. I was ready for fume to come out of her ears or something. I was ready for the screaming and the empty threats. I was prepared to ignore the worst.

Instead she just stood there, looking at me like I was nothing but a corpse of someone that she used to know. "What is wrong with you?" She whispered. I could tell she was trying not to yell. "Why can't you just listen?"

"I don't have to listen," I snarled. Now I was on my feet. Anger was growing in my chest.

"Yes you do," Robin growled. "I'm your aunt! Your parents left me in charge of you!"

"Yeah and honestly I'm kind of pissed off that they did," I admitted. I was saying this out loud for the first time, even though the thought had been hidden inside of me ever since my grandma had told me that I was going to live with Robin.

Robin flinched, like I had just pulled out a gun. "What is that suppose to mean?"

"It means that they shouldn't have left me with you!" I was now shouting. I had lost control. "I mean we barely knew each other! You were never around when my parents were alive! Hell, you still aren't around right now! You just come in to yell at me! You aren't my loving guardian! You are my wicked prison guard!"
