I made sure that I saw Mason everyday during the next school week. That way no matter how many times I got annoyed throughout the day, seeing Mason always made my problems disappear.
Robin and I were still on no speaking terms. Every time I saw her I would look away, sticking my nose in the air like I had become one of the snotty girls at my school. Sometimes I said hi to Ned, only because I knew that would really drive Robin insane.
I tried to stay away from my house. Mason and I now hung out at his place. His room made me feel at home. Still, his brother gave me a weird vibe. But I didn't let that bother me.
I hung around school as well. On Friday, I sat in the bleachers with Sky while Tyler and Josh got ready for their game. After they did their stretching and warm up drills, their coach allowed them to roam the field and prepare themselves in isolation.
Josh and Tyler just came over to us.
This was the first time that I saw the boys in their uniforms. Like everything else in the school, their uniforms were green. Their shoulder pads were hidden under the fabric, causing the two boys to look more like football players than lacrosse players. JAMESMADISONHIGH SCHOOL was written in white lettering, as were their numbers. Tyler was number five while Josh had a number ten slapped on his back.
While we waited for the game to start we talked about one of our favorite topics, Mason and I.
"I can't believe you had sex with Mason Troy," Josh muttered as he examined the netting of his lacrosse stick.
"I'm not talking to you about this," I growled. My eyes darted over toward Sky. "You weren't supposed to tell him."
"I didn't know!" Sky squealed, raising her hands over her head. "I'm not use to keeping secrets!"
"Clearly."
"I also suggest that we don't talk about this," Tyler suggested, looking rather uncomfortable. "I mean, do we really want to hear about Chloe's sex life?"
"Kind of," Josh informed with a mischievous grin.
"Ok, well do you really want to hear about Mason's sex life?"
"No."
"Then let's stop talking about it."
"Thank you, Tyler," I said. 'You actually said something right."
"No problem," Tyler sighed. He paused for a moment before continuing. "But I still hate the guy."
"And you're back again."
"Well, I can't help it. I don't trust him."
I raised an eyebrow at him. "And that's the only reason you don't like him?'
"Yes," Tyler grumbled. I didn't drop my suspicious glare. When Tyler saw it, an annoyed look washed over his face. "Chloe, yes! That's the only reason!"
I smiled proudly. "Good!" I had to always make sure that Tyler wasn't developing feelings for me again. I liked Tyler as a friend. That was it. He would just make things complicated if he developed his powerful crush for me again.
"So who's house?" Josh wondered.
"You are way too into this," Tyler growled, shaking his head up toward the sky.
