Chapter 3

*Lacey's POV*

"So was talking to him, was it what you thought it would be?" Kate asked me.

"Kind of, it felt easy to talk to him"

"Aww! You guys are so going to be together"

I rolled my eyes as I walked into my class.

"Hey" I looked up and Harry was looking at me.

"Can I help you?"

"Are you okay Lacey?"

I ignored him and waited for the bell to ring "hey!" He ran up to me "what's wrong?"

"Nothing's wrong, I'm having a bad day. Why are you even talking to me huh? Guys like you don't talk to girls like me"

"Girls like you?"

"Girls that are invisible to guys like you! The girl that's shy and never speaks in class, the one no one notices is even there... The weird girl... Guys like you don't talk to girls like me let alone like them or date them so if you're don't wasting my time, I'm leaving"

I rocked Emma back in front on the couch as there was a knock at the door. I held onto Emma as I went to open it and it was Harry.

"How the hell did you find out where I lived?!"

"You're uncle"

I rolled my eyes "I can't talk okay? Emma's not feeling well"

"What's wrong?"

"She's coughing and has a fever"

"You need to turn on the shower and put the hot water on" he tells me.

"Stay here and close the door"

I went upstairs and did exactly as he said and she was feeling better and was knocked out so I placed her on my bed and went downstairs.

"Thank you, she's feeling better" I crossed my arms "what do you want?"

"Where's your dad? Or mom?"

"My mother died when Emma was three and my dad's out"

"So he just leaves you alone?"

"Well I am 17 and raising my little sister so yeah"

"Listen about earlier today..."

"I'm sorry okay? I was just having a bad day"

"I just want you to know I'm not that guy Lacey"

"Yeah whatever, can you go now?"

"You don't want me to stay?" Harry asked me.

"I'll be fine"

I left and I put my pajamas on and went to bed. I woke up at one o'clock in the morning, I went downstairs and checked to see if I saw my dad's car. I didn't but I saw Harry's.

I got out of the house and walked over to his car and knocked, he woke up and rolled down his window.

"Why are you still here?"

"I didn't feel right leaving you alone"

"Well come into the house, I don't want you to freeze"

We walked back into my house and I handed him a blanket and pillow "thank you Lacey"

"Thank you for not leaving"

I went back upstairs to my room and knocked out with my arms around Emma.
