Chapter 18

"Hey baby"

I looked up at my Uncle "yeah?"

"Can your aunt and I talk to you?"

"Of course" I nodded as my aunt and uncle sat down in front of me.

"We talked to the lawyers"

"What happened?" I tensed up.

"I know you wanted Emma to stay with you but"

"But?" I asked.

My uncle sighed "But since you're only 17, they suggest we have custody of Emma until you're old enough"

"I'm trying 18 like next week!" I argued.

"I know Lace" my aunt sighed "but it's the best thing for now"

"I was going to take her with me to college! Drop her off at school, pick her up... I'm suppose to take care of her!"

"Princess, I know and you still can"

"It's not the same though Uncle Anthony"

"It's my job to take care of her, I'm not going to leave her... I can't leave her"

"And you won't"

"But depending on where I go off to college, I will be! Mom left her and dad left her, I'm all she's got"

My uncle got up and sat next to me "listen baby, we understand okay? We're not going to separate you two"

"You promise?" I cried.

"We promise" he hugged me.

"I'm going to go see Harry" I sighed as I got out of the house and went to see Harry. I texted Harry so he'll be waiting outside for me. I parked the car, took the key and ran out into his arms.

"Hey you okay?" He ran his hands through my hair.

"I don't know" I sighed in his arms.

We went to the living room where I cuddled up to him as I told what happened.

"I'm sure they would take care of her babe"

"I know but, I'm her sister Harry... I've been taking care of Emma since my mom died"

"I know baby I know, but you just have to trust your uncle and aunt to stay true to their word"

I sighed "I guess"

"Hey Lacey, how are you sweetie?"

"I'm good Anne, how are you?"

"I'm good, is there anything I could get for you?" Anne asked me.

"No I'm fine thank you" I smiled at her as she walked out of the house.

I cuddled back to Harry "she's always going to be your little sister Lace, you are always going to be the first person she wants to hug and tell you good and bad news to... You aren't replaceable to her"

I looked at him "you right" I nodded.

"You're going to be okay princess"

Harry's phone went off, he picked up his phone "who is it?"

"The boys, there's a party tonight"

"Let's go! Please babe, I could use a night out"

"Fine, ask your uncle if you can stay over"

I nodded as I sent a text to my uncle and he responded "okay"

"He said okay! I'm going to ask Gemma if I can borrow a dress"
