Chapter 22

"Are you sure you're going to be okay?" My uncle asked me.

"Yeah I'll be fine" I nodded.

I was staying home today, my aunt and uncle went to work, John went to school and Emma went to daycare. I locked up the front door and the back door then Harry called me.

"Do you want me to stay with you?" He asked me.

"That's sweet but no you need to be in school, you will be the first one I call if anything okay?"

"Okay babe, I'm going to miss you"

"I'm going to miss you too"

I hanged up and made me some breakfast. I went downstairs, turned the TV on and ended up falling asleep.

It was one in the afternoon when I got up. I rubbed my eyes as I stood up and I was going upstairs to noticed the back door was open, I closed it. I stopped and pulled my phone out.

Lacey: Harry, I'm going to call you, please don't speak and just listen

Harry: why?

Lacey: I don't think I'm alone in the house

I took a deep breath as I walked upstairs. I felt something hit me then I blacked out. I groaned as I opened my eyes and I fell down the stairs.

"Leo! I know you're here"

"Do you know your father misses you?" I heard his voice as I managed to get up.

"You went to see him?"

"Of course I went to visit my future father in law"

"Leo, I want to help you... You used to be my best friend... I do love you Leo, like a friend"

"I don't want your help, I want you"

"You can't have me, I'm not yours for the taking"

"Why because of that Harry guy?" Leo asked me.

I felt him next to me as he put his arms next to me making me unable to move "you were my friend, you know exactly how I felt about Harry"

"You were in 6th grade, how could you have possibly fallin in love with him?"

"It was love at first sight Leo, you know that. I can't explain how I feel about him, I know that I'm around him, I just feel better and I know that he will make me feel safe"

"I could make you feel safe"

"You can't Leo, I'm scared of you"

"You don't seem scared" he caressed my cheek.

"Because I'm used to you, you don't make me feel good about myself Leo... I actually feel horrible when I'm around you"

"Why babe?"

"I feel like my mother and how she felt when she was fighting with my dad"

"Does your precious boyfriend know you used to have a crush on me?" He asked me.

"Yeah Leo, used to"

"Still.. What made you stop liking me?" He felt up my thigh as I slapped his arm away.

"Don't touch me"

"Answer to the question" he slapped me.

"Because you became my friend, plus I still was into Harry"

"Why him?" Leo asked me.

"How many times do I have to go through this?! It's always going to be him Leo!"

He slammed me against the wall and I winced "I wanted to be your first but since I can't be, I'm going to be your last"

He took a pair of handcuffs out and then I started to worry "please Leo, you're smart, please don't do this"

"I'm doing this to save you Lacey"

"Save me from what?"

"The bad people in the world"

"You are one of those bad people Leo, I was safe before you came back into my life"

"Yeah and now you're safe"

He pulled me upstairs and out of the back door as he dragged me. This is it, I'm done. I can say goodbye to Kate, Harry, Emma, my uncle, aunt, John, my mother's car... I was uncontrollably crying at this point. As Leo dragged me to the front, he stopped and let go of me. I noticed the cops with their guns aimed at him, I was saved! My uncle and Harry ran towards me as the cops arrested Leo.

"Are you okay baby?" Harry asked me.

"Give me a minute"

I walked over to Leo and the cops "can you please get my hands out of this?"

He nodded as I could feel my wrists again "he needs mental help" I tell the cop "please don't put him in jail"

"Ma'am are you sure?"

"He used to be my friend before all of this and I just want him to be okay" he nodded and put Leo in the car.

I walked back and I ran into Harry's arms "you're safe" Harry told me.

"You were so brave Lacey" I looked at my uncle "you called Harry and had him on the phone the whole time which gave us time to call the cops and get here... Are you okay?"

"I don't know"

Harry carried me and set up the shower up, he stood in the shower with me and bathe me as I just stood there.

"Can you talk to me about it?" He asked me.

I began to cry as I looked up at him "I thought I was done Harry, I thought he was going to take me away and that was going to be it... I tried to help him"

"I know you did"

He got out of the shower first then helped me out. I laid in bed with his arms around me.

"I'm not leaving you tonight" he tells me.

I nodded "good, I don't want to be alone for awhile"

"It's okay to fall asleep, you're safe, no one is going to get you"

"You promise?"

"I promise" he kissed my shoulder as I took his word and closed my eyes.

I woke up in a panic "Harry?!"

Harry sat up and wrapped his arms around me "you're safe Lacey, you're safe"

I sighed into his arms as we laid back down. He began hum as I fell to sleep.
