Chapter 17

"Harry?"

"Babe it's like two in the morning"

"I know but I have a question" I glanced up at him.

"What is it?" He asked me with his eyes still closed.

"Why did you want to go into the marine?"

"Well I wanted to do something I was proud of and I wanted to be able to fight for my family and country and I wanted to challenge myself"

He opened his eyes and they landed on me "do you know what you want to do?"

"No, there's like a lot of things I would love to do"

"You have to choose one you're passionate about and can be happy doing for your whole life"

I nodded "thanks Haz, okay let's go back to sleep"

"Thank you" he kissed my forehead as we fell back to sleep.

"We should wake up" I hear Harry's voice in my ear.

"Sshh no!"

"Emma wants her sister"

"Then tell her to climb into bed" I tell Harry.

"Babe, I think she's sick" that's when I sat up and went to my sister and picked her up as she coughed.

"Oh it's fine baby" I rocked her back in forth "Harry, I need you to go find some cough and fever medicine in the bathroom"

"Of course" Harry got out of the bed and went to the bathroom.

Harry came back out and a few medicines. I took picked one and he poured the liquid into the little cup.

"You need to drink this Em"

"Eww!"

"Please baby, here I'll drink it with you okay?" I sat her on the bed as Harry held the cup for her "ready?" I looked at my little sister and she nodded.

We both drank the cough and fever medicine "oh I'm so proud of you Emma"

I laid back in bed with my sister as I wrapped my arm around her. Harry sat up next to me as he turned on the TV.

"The sleeping should help her" I tell him as I sat up.

"She should be better when she wakes up" I nodded as tears fell down my cheek "Hey what's wrong?"

"It's just Emma's never been this sick before and I'm only 17 Harry, I don't know what to do"

Harry wrapped his arm around me "shh babe, it's going to be okay"

I ended up falling asleep.

"Shh Emma, Lacey's sleeping"

I groaned as I opened my eyes and looked at Harry who had Emma on his hip.

"What happened?"

"You knocked out" he smiled at me.

"How is she?" I asked him as I sat up.

"Well your uncle took her to the doctor and she got some medicine and she should be good tomorrow"

I sighed as Harry gave me Emma and I just hugged her tight. I eventually went upstairs and ate dinner then went back downstairs to give Emma her medicine. She knocked out while I was telling her a story about mom.

"You want to go out Lace?"

"Haz it's about to be seven and I have been in my pajamas all day"

"Then go change"

"Where will we go?" I asked him.

"I don't know, I just want to get you out of the house"

I groaned as I went to shower then change "all right let's go"

We ended up just going for a walk "are you ready for work?"

"I am yeah, it's about time I earn some money for Emma and I plus for college"

Harry nodded, he seemed like something was bothering him but I know he would talk to me when he was ready.

"So Harry, are you excited to join the marines?" I asked him.

"I am yeah, I've talk to a few people who have been in the army and reading up on it"

"That's good, you seen ready"

"Yeah plus I've been working out getting ready for their type of work out"

"You have been" I smirked at my boyfriend.

"You're a good distraction"

"Ditto" he pecked my lips as we walked around our town and shared some memories.

We made it back to the house and we changed back to our pajamas and fell asleep.
