Chapter 30

"Thanks again for coming to meet me for breakfast"

"Of course Lacey, did you sleep well?"

"Not really you?"

"Same" she sighed.

After breakfast, we went back to my room because I needed to talk to her.

"Is that Em? Oh look how big she is? And John!"

"I know you were saving yourself but you should of took us"

"Did he hurt you?"

"Yes too many times"

"I'm sorry babe I am I thought he would step up, I am really sorry Lacey"

"Why didn't you call? Or come find us?"

"I thought you two would've been better off without me and I was scared. I was really scared I would lose you two, I mean your my babies"

"Will you come back with me?" I asked her.

"I will, since I left you with your father"

I booked us a flight and we left. Mom was extremely nervous but I think with me holding her hand, she was okay.

"Harry!!" I ran into his arms "God I missed you"

"Oh I missed you more princess" he held me tight.

He put me down "mom this is my boyfriend Harry, Haz this is my mother"

"It's nice to finally meet you Harry, thank you for making my daughter so happy"

"Of course"

We got in his car "does Em know you're coming home?" Harry asked me.

"Nope and she doesn't know I'm bring mom home too"

"Are you nervous Ms..."

"Call me Stefanie"

"Are you nervous Stefanie?" He asked my mother as I grabbed his hand.

"Yeah" she laughed.

Harry parked the car and I held onto my mom's hand as we walked into my uncle's house. My uncle wrapped his arms around me.

"Where have you been?!"

"I've been in California looking for my mom" I told him as his eyes went to my mom.

"How are you.."

My mom said hi to everyone then sat us down as she explained what happened. Harry and I were downstairs making out.

"God I missed you" he moaned.

"I've missed you... You come back with me? For a little vacation"

"I have to stay here and work out"

"Do you really?" I asked him "I have to go find an apartment when I get back"

Emma and mom came down "this is so cute, Anthony... Thank you for doing this for my babies"

"Of course Stef" he nodded.

"Can I have a moments with my babies?" She asked Harry and Anthony.

She sat Emma and I down "I'm so sorry babies for not being there for you but if you'll allow me I would love to be there for you now... Lacey will be in California with me, Emma"

I looked down at my little sister "mom wants to know if you'll come with us?"

"Who will I stay with?" She asked me.

"You'll stay with me" mom said "and Lacey will come by and see you"

I looked at my mother "or" I looked at Emma and held her hand "if you want, you can stay with me. Wherever you feel the most comfortable"

My mom nodded "can I think about it?" She asked us.

"Yes of course princess" I told her.

She went back upstairs "Mind if I take you for a drive mom?"

"Sure baby"

We got in my car and my mom got a bit emotional being in her old car "it still looks the same"

I smiled as I began to drive her around and basically tell her everything.

"Sweetie stop the car please" I pulled over and turned to her as she grabbed my hands with tears in her eyes "you are so incredibly strong Lacey, you are so brave. You raised your sister without anyone telling you to do so, you have dealt with so much. I'm so so sorry that you had to deal with all of that alone, without. I know it's going to take some time for you to trust me again and forgive me but I'm not going anywhere"

I just balled into her arms "I've missed you so much" I might be really mad at her but I missed her so much that it overpowers my anger.

I dropped mom off at the hotel then drove to Harry's.

"Hey babe" I cuddled up to him.

"Hey beautiful, how's your mom?"

"Okay I think, all of this is a bit scary for her"

"Yeah, it was a big day for you guys"

"Hmm" I nuzzled my head in his neck "is it okay if I rest my eyes?" I asked him.

"Of course baby, of course. I'll be right here"

I woke up heard yelled "Harry?" I called as I got up.

I wasn't in his room, I was in my old room "where the hell am I?" I opened the door and I looked down into the living room and saw my mother and dad.

No no no, this can't be happening "dad stop!" I ran downstairs.

He pushed me away "get the hell out of here Lacey"

"Get the hell away from her" I tried to push him as he had his hands on my mother.

"Lacey, go upstairs"

"No mom! He's going to kill you!"

I held onto her hand "go" she whispered.

Tears stream down my face as her eyes closed. My dad let go of her and she fell onto the floor "mom!" I ran up to her and took her in my arms "you killed her!" I yelled.

My dad realized what he did and he backed away as I cried "please come back mommy"

I woke up in sobs "Hey ssh, I got you babe. I got you" Harry took me in his arms and rocked me back and forth.

"He killed her Harry... He killed her! I tried to help but I wasn't strong enough"

"Ssh Lace, you're mom's alive babe... She's alive"

He ran his hands through my hair "you okay baby girl?"

"Yeah um, I'm sorry about that"

"It's fine, I think you need to go see your mom. That night still haunts you"

I sighed "yeah I should..."

I kissed him goodbye and got in my car to go see my mom.

"Lacey sweetie is everything okay?"

"Mom, I need to know about that night" I told her "that night still haunts me today"

That night, I spent hours talking to my mother understanding why she did what she did. I stayed with her, got to hug her and to feel her warmth again.
