We all got dressed up and met at the trial.

"Thanks for taking care of her tonight, you didn't have to"

"I wanted to plus you needed some sleep" I smiled.

I held Elizabeth in my arms as my dad came out and looked at me and Emma. He smiled and sat down then we sat down. I was the first one to speak because I was the oldest plus my mom wasn't here.

"I saw a few of my dad's and mom's fight" I tell them "they got rough fast and my dad was always so hard on her, smacking her around calling her names. I saw him kill my mother, he did it right in front of me... He was abusive with me, that I had to leave. My younger sister and I had to leave, I raised her because my father wasn't able to. He was either never home or drunk and I was even in a relationship where I was being abused. And I knew how my mother felt, she loved my father but she was scared of me" I cried "I got out before it got worst because I have a daughter and I had to do what was best for her and myself. My father shouldn't be out because my little sister is already scared for her life that he will come back for her and a 15 year old girl shouldn't have to be worrying about her dad coming back to abuse her! I shouldn't have to worry about him coming for me or my daughter.... That's all I have to say"

I sat back down and held Lizzy close to me "mommy loves you" I whispered to her ear.

We took a break and I fed and changed Elizabeth then we got back in. They said give us two weeks then they'll make their decision.

"I should head home now"

"Wait so you're going to go home?" Harry asked me.

"Yeah aren't you?"

"I mean yeah but I have another week off and I don't know if I can come back"

"You could come with me to California, I mean I'm living with my mom but you can come see what I do... If you want"

"I would love to Lacey"

We booked our flights, said goodbye and headed to California.

"Mom! Look who's here with me"

My mom came out "oh my god! Harry! Oh you look so handsome"

Harry laughed and hugged my mother "nice to see you again Stefanie"

"So where are you staying?"

"At a hotel near by"

"Are you sure? I'm sure I have an extra room for you"

"Oh I'm sure"

"Mom, can you watch Liz for me?"

"Of course baby"

"Come on Haz" I tugged him.

We got in my car as I drove to work "is it weird I'm excited?" He smiled at me.

I laughed "no"

We walked into the zoo and I walked to my office "Ms. Matthews"

"Jane this is Harry a good friend of mine"

"Nice to meet you but I thought you don't work today"

"I don't sweetie but I thought I'll stop by and see how everything's going"

She nodded "well Leo has a broken leg"

"Who's Leo?" Harry asked me.

"A zebra" I smiled.

They had the zebra on the bed knocked out as I put the case on the zebra "okay Leo, you're all good"

"Wow Lacey, this is amazing"

"Thanks" I smiled.

I showed Harry around California and caught him up on me and where I've been and what I did. I dropped him off at his hotel and took Liz to Daniel.

"Hey" I walked in "she missed her daddy" I smiled as I handed her to him.

"How about you?" He asked me.

"Danny, we're not together anymore you can't make sexual jokes now"

"Right sorry" he nodded "so how did the trial go?"

"Well I need to go back in two weeks"

"How do you think it went?"

"Good actually, how have you been?"

"Taking anger management classes... I want to change Lacey I want to change for our family"

"I don't know if we even have a family now but I'm glad to hear that Danny, I'm so proud of you" I smiled "I'm going to go but call me and I'll pick her up"

"Okay"

I went to Kate's for the rest of the afternoon because I needed my best friend then Daniel called me and I went to pick up Elizabeth.

"How was she?"

"Good nothing I can't handle" he smiled at me.

I nodded as I took Liz "well I should get home"

"You don't want to stay?"

"I can't"

I went home and fell asleep.
