Chapter 24

"What are you saying Lace?" Kate asked me over the phone.

I groaned "I'm speaking English Kate! What don't you understand? Do you want to go away for the weekend? It's early, we can leave now and have today and tomorrow"

"Where?" She asked me.

"Anywhere that's like a few hours away" I told her.

"Let's go to Baltimore"

"Okay well go pack and I'll pick you up in a few"

"Okay!" She yelled.

I hanged up and began to pack "Lacey, what are you doing?"

"I'm packing baby, Kate and I are going to Baltimore. Would you want to come?" I stopped and asked her.

"You want me to come?!"

"Only if you want to princess"

"Yes!"

I laughed and began to pack Emma's stuff "why don't you go upstairs and tell Uncle Anthony to help you pack snacks?"

"Okay"

I walked into the bathroom to get a few things then I was ready. I went upstairs and put my bag in the trunk.

"Here's your bag Lace"

"Thanks Uncle Anthony"

"Is Em going with you?"

"Yeah" I nodded "I'm going to pick up Kate"

"Okay baby, have fun"

I got Emma all settled in the back seat as I drove to get Kate.

"Lacey, who's car is this?"

I parked in front of Kate's house and quickly sent her a text. I turned around and looked at my sister "this was mommy's car Em"

"Really?" She got excited.

"Yup and when you're old enough to drive, I will give you mom's car"

She smiled as she dangled her legs. Kate put her bag in the trunk then got in the passenger seat.

"I'm so pumped!"

I laughed "thanks for coming Kate, I really needed this getaway"

"What happened Lacey?"

I took a deep breath "Harry and I are kind of on a break"

"What does that even mean?" She asked me as she got comfortable.

"I gave him time to think about what he wants to do once he leaves" I glanced at my best friend "I need to know you know? So I can prepare myself. I would be there for him if he wants me to and if he doesn't then I guess I won't"

"What did he say?"

"He said he will feel bad if I went with him and he wasn't there for me often. He wants to give me the love and attention I need but I just... I don't know what I want" I sighed.

"Lacey?"

"Yes baby?"

"Can I have grapes?"

"Kate can you help her out?" I asked Kate.

"Yeah of course"

Kate reached in the bag behind her and handed Emma the bag of grapes "don't eat all of them okay?"

"Okay" she mumbled while eating.

We made it to the hotel and Emma just knocked out so we stayed in.

"Are you okay Lace?" Kate looked at me and I just looked out the window at the water front view.

"I don't know" I turned and looked at her and she gave me a "I'm sorry" face.

Once Emma woke up, we went out to walk around and to find a place to eat.

*Uncle Anthony's POV*

The doorbell went off "I got it" I paused the movie.

I got up and opened the door and it was Harry.

"Hey um, is Lacey here?" He nervously asked me.

"I'm sorry son but she went away for the weekend"

"Oh um okay" he nodded then walked back to his car.

I closed the door and went to the kitchen to call Lacey.

"Hey Uncle Anthony, sorry I forgot to call but we're walking around now"

"Lacey"

"Yeah?" She asked.

"Harry stopped by looking for you"

She was silent for a few seconds "He was?"

"Yeah" I answered.

"How was he?"

"He seemed nervous, like he really needed to see you"

"Um thanks, I'll see you tomorrow"

"Okay baby"

*Lacey's POV*

I wonder why he was looking for me, we walked into a shake shack. I ordered for Kate, Emma and I and we sat down and ate there then went back to the hotel.

"They have a club, in the hotel" Kate tells me.

"You know we can't go" I glanced down at my sister then back at Kate.

"We can leave her in the room"

I sighed and shook my head "she's too young Kate, she's not able to lock up after us. She's small"

Kate sighed as we walked to our room "you can go if you want, it's okay"

"Are you sure?"

"Yes Kate, I'm not going to stop you from having fun"

"All right"

She went into the bathroom to change as Emma and I changed into our pajamas.

"I won't be long" Kate tells me.

"Go have fun" I pushed her out the door.

I wish I was going with her but I have to stay with my sister. I tucked Emma in as I looked over at the channels and found Kung Fu Panda. I grabbed my phone and went to the bathroom to pee. I flushed and looked at myself at the mirror. I glanced down to see I got a voicemail from Harry.

I sighed and put it on, I put the phone to my ear "Hey um Lacey baby... I miss you. I don't know what I'm going to do but I know I miss you like crazy. I miss your touch, your lips, I miss that damn laugh of yours. I miss your smile, fuck do I miss that beautiful smile of yours please come home to me baby, we'll figure it out when the time comes all I know is I need you, I need to be with you"

I covered my mouth as I began to cry, what do I do? I want to be with Harry because I miss him like crazy too but is it worth it. I took a deep breath and washed my face before I went back out to the hotel room. I tried to wait for Kate and thank god I did, she came in and locked up and I went to sleep.
