She loved me once
I loved her twice
She crashed me once
I perished forever

Late August in Paris

This love,
Is now parted with hers
But this love
Will never fade like hers

Paul had had that thought spinning on his head since their separation. She once loved him as much as he did in the first place but she started to fade away because of one mistake. Lou told him that she already got over it but Paul knew that she hadn't at all, Lou kept hiding herself in misery because she didn't want Paul to be more guilty.

It was because of one night that Paul really regretted the most in his life.

He got overreacted towards what he saw in the café, he saw a man whom he didn't recognize holding Lou's hand that day. Lou and that man were laughing and seemed enjoying the day, Paul walked approaching them and yelled at Lou furiously. She was humiliated where everyone in the café stared at the drama they were unintentionally making. Paul left her without hearing her explanation because he was sure that she was cheating on him and his prejudice was true about her cheating on him. He left and went to a bar that he used to visit with Lou. Paul called Mikaela who was a friend of Lou for a company until they got drunk and he made out with her. Paul was utterly drunk until he couldn't control what he was actually doing. Paul knew that Mikaela had been keeping her feelings for him since middle school.

It happened just like that.

While he was making out with Mikaela, Paul opened his eyes and suddenly noticed Lou was actually there watching them. He got shocked and tried to run after her.

Everything was messed up because of an affair and lust they had. It took about 2 months for them to talk again, Mikaela kept apologizing to Lou and because Lou always put other people's feelings first then hers, she forgave her and they became best friends again. Not only her, he also gave Paul the second chance.

Yes, Lou is selfless.

Paul and Lou tried to make up but the relationship they had then was a bit awkward somehow because Mikaela was once involved. Paul never had the urge to ask about the man in the café with Lou because he already felt guilty about what he had done to her which was worse and Lou never asked Paul how he bumped into Mikaela that night because she thought, 'the less I know, the better I will be'. Until that day in Luxembourg came, Paul tried to be selfless and gave Lou a chance to be the upper-hand and she finally let go of him.

It had been a month that Paul hadn't heard anything about Lou. It was summer break where they used to spend their time in Luxembourg. Luxembourg was literally the sacred witness of their relationship, that place almost knew everything about them. But then, Paul only spent his summer break in his apartment watching movies and eating. The break-up was very destructive for him. He was watching The Longest Ride that day, reminded him of how much Lou loved art. Suddenly his phone beeped showing a phone call from his old friend in middle school that stopped him from his train of thoughts.

"What's up, Alex?" greeted Paul as he paused the movie

"Nothing, just wanted to call my old friend. Is that a crime?"

Pau smirked and responded, "How's Cambridge?"

"Cambridge is always the same, nothing's changed," Alex answered shortly. "It's been three years you haven't come here, don't you miss your grandfather?"

"You don't even know my grandfather," Paul laughed and he added. "But however, I miss Cambridge too."

"Then you should come."

Paul was suddenly being silent to process what Alex just said in his brain.

"Man? I've got to meet my lecturer. Been working on my thesis which is hella frustrating." Alex mumbled and he added. "Let me know if you go to Cambridge. See ya, bro."

Paul hung up the phone and he walked to the balcony of his apartment. He kept processing what Alex just said and texted Alex after 10 minutes.

"Off to Cambridge tomorrow. See ya"
