So the rumors were true.  She liked another guy, just as I feared. He wasn't a bad guy, but I could not imagine them together.

She already moved on?!

Honestly, I didn't see how someone like her could like a crazy guy like Nathan.  He never seemed like the girl type.  He never seemed to care.

Not to mention it seemed like their personalities didn't match well.

Despite all that, all I heard the next week was how cute they looked together. Every time I heard it, I wanted to walk away or run away.  To leave everything behind and start fresh.

Those were the days I didn't feel like talking to anyone.

I never will forget the day I came with her and her friend to the library. Every day, when they were done with their work, they would disappear into the library for some reason.

Why do they always leave?

Today, I got my answer.

Nathan was there surrounded by girls, and that was the first sight I was to behold.

I fought off the urge to groan. The minute he saw her he beamed. She smiled back. And in that moment, I wanted to trade places with him more than anything.

"...and then I said: that's what she said!"  Nathan said, laughing at his own joke.

She and some of the other girls smiled and stifled hysterical fits.

I tried my best to smile, but it was even more awkward than the books and movies made it appear to be.  Being with the girl you like and her crush is a lot harder to endure than I could've imagined.

While we were all talking, he took a sharpie and kept trying to draw on her.

The minute he did she chased him all the way into the back of the library.

They disappeared. And so did I.
