Dizzy and sick, I hopped off the dragon. I had trouble walking.
Well at least if I fell, I would fall in her arms.
My stomach felt like I had dumped lava inside it, and the lava was beginning to bubble up.
Stupid Butterbeer...
"I loved that ride!" Valerie screamed, and Dana walked ahead with her.
Meanwhile, I stuck back with her.
"Well listen, it's been so much fun, but I really need to find my group. They are probably worried about me," I whispered.
I desperately wanted to stay with her. I had so much fun with just the hour I spent with her.
Her pink lips split up and down, revealing that surreal smile of hers. "Are you sure?"
"Well, it's what's right I guess."
"Yeah. Well, maybe we'll see you later then."
I flashed her one more smile before turning the other way and running.
Running to what? Even I didn't know anymore.
Suddenly, I felt a lurching feeling in my stomach again, and before I could react, I released all the food I previously consumed in the trash.
My mouth was on fire. I cried out for a drink, but I was wanted as far as the chaperones saw it, and I needed to hide.
So I bounded on.

I found out Gavin, Ray, and Jack were riding another water ride, so I snuck into the waiting area.
Across from me, a group of adults in blue school shirts strolled around.
Oh god! No!
I recoiled behind a rocky statue. My feet gave out, and I plumped my butt on the wet floor. The floor was cold, damp, and hard as a stone.
Of course it's made of stone.
I suffocated my head in my sweaty arms and thought about how well this day could have gone.
I thought about being with her all day. My heart nearly bursted right then and there just imagining us together.
We would be free. No limits (except for the park rules). No restraints (except for the bar restraints on rides). Just us against the world, and that's all I wanted.
I thought of holding her smooth, cold hands while we experienced every ride together.
I couldn't explain it, but it was what it was. Love just seemed to function that way.
My train of thought was interrupted by my name being called.
At first, I thought it was a mirage and it was all a figment of my sporadic imagination.
"dante...Dante...DANTE...DANTE!"
I felt something, or someone, pinch my hair.
My head cocked up, and there was Gavin, Ray, and Jack.
"Where have you been?" They asked, helping me up.
"I was with her," I attempted to explain.
They all exchanged puzzled looks.
"Her," I repeated myself with more emphasis on the word and an eyebrow motion.
"Oh, well that's good, but why did you leave us?" Jack said. Three faces told one story.
I made the story possible, but it wasn't exactly a story I was proud of.
•••••••
The rest of the trip was spent meeting up with the rest of our original group and sharing our adventures.
Mine wasn't exactly appealing, and it only seemed to drag down the mood more and more.
So I shut up.
That trip was the worst trip, field trip or not, that I had ever been on.
But she came through when it mattered most. I'm not sure if I would survived without her.
