The last day of school. More emotions running wild. No more backpacks. No more teachers. No more work. Just freedom.

I would miss my friends going to the other high school, though. I heard my high school was supposed to be pretty populated.

Most of all, I would miss her.

When will I be able to see her again?

I was having an end of the year party, and of course she was coming, but after that I would traveling.

I asked her a couple days before the party on the bus if she could come.

"Hey," I said, clearing my throat. "Do you, um, maybe want to to come to to to to to my end my end of the year party?"

I felt like a dunce, a complete fool of myself.

It's just one friend asking to hang out with another friend.

But it still felt like more.

She laughed and smiled. Her teeth shone, her lips turned red, and her cheeks turned ever so slightly red.

For a second, we stared and smiled at each other before we snapped out of it. I was jumping for joy inside.

Of course, she said yes.

••••••••••

She didn't live too far away from me, but I've never been to her house before, so it wasn't easy to see her one-on-one.

Riding the bus home was truly unforgettable.

First of all, Jason was coming home with me and helping set up for the after school end of the year party.

It was a pretty normal bus ride until my crazy bus driver all of a sudden started rapping about how cool he was. Honestly, he was the worst driver I had ever had, so I had no idea what he was smoking.

"Mr. Mosa is my name, and I'm the best. You want me as your bus driver, 'cause I'm better than the rest!" Every word made me and Jason cringe.

We finally were set free, officially marking the beginning of being free. Summer was starting, and so was the party.

I did feel bad that there were six guys and only three girls, but that was the best I could do.

The overall party was different, because this was the first time I blended two of my friend groups. In the past, I just invited my guy friends.

I stopped myself from thinking about her. I knew what to do.
