I was jealous. Most of my friends were aware of it. She was unlike any girl I ever liked. Unlike with the others, I wasn't losing my determination.
So every day we would see each other. "Hello," she would say, but sometimes that would be it. I begged for more from her. I just wanted to soak in every minute I had with her.
Please don't leave....
Those words recycled themselves in my brain every time we had to go our separate ways.
Any chance I got I was thankful for. I just loved to be around her.
We could get into long conversations about life, writing, and so much more. But only sometimes would that happen.
Or sometimes we would be talking and she'd lose her train of thought just like I do. I didn't know exactly why, but I always thought it was the cutest thing.
Lunch was the only time I got to see her in the school day besides the bus and science class.
However, I would manage to ensnare myself in the same sticky situations every lunch, and I rarely got a chance to truly act like a friend.
Friends like Eric were always getting in the way.
