Emily's POV
*One month later*
From Best friend: Sorry, I can't make it tonight.. I have to tutor Danielle again, she keeps falling behind in classes. I'll catch up with you soon though, promise. Ash x
I stared at my phone screen in disbelief, this is the sixth time in a row he has cancelled our plans last minute in the space of a month. Personally, I hate the thought of Ash being with another girl.. if he spent his time with me and didn't distract himself with that girl, maybe he'd see that we are supposed to be together.
Danielle was some bad girl that didn't follow any rules which was the complete opposite of Ash, I feel that she may be taking advantage of him.
Although I didn't like this girl, I wanted Ashton to be happy.. He likes her so he should be able to spend time with her. If this girl was what Ashton wanted then I had to step down, he probably doesn't feel the same about me. Who am I kidding? I know that he doesn't or else he wouldn't like some other girl.
Ashton always asked me for advice on how he could change to get her to notice him. Of course I helped him because I'm a good friend and I refuse to get in the way of Ashton's happiness.
"Emily? Are you okay?" My brother, Luke asked as he stumbled into my bedroom.
I wiped my tears and nodded my head.
He knew I was lying, he could read me like a book. Luke was a total sweetheart at home, but anywhere else he acted like he had no cares in the world which sometimes pissed me off a lot but I love him, I guess.
I hugged Luke tightly and buried my face into his broad shoulder and let a few sobs escape my lips whilst he just held me and told me that everything was going to be okay no matter what. Which was what I needed to hear at the moment..
