"The doctor said that it isn't as bad as it looks, and you'll be up and at 'em again in no time at all." The young orange fox said as he handed me a glass of water.
"Thanks Tails!" I said, smiling as I took a sip before setting it on the bedside table. He had been standing there smiling, his two white-tipped tails slowly drifting back and forth. He always seemed to unconsciously do that when he was either happy or satisfied. I glanced at everyone who was standing around my bed. "So then.. Why is everyone in my room?" They all stood around my bed silently, and even if they weren't, I felt like they were staring me down. Big time. After GUN dropped us off at the workshop, everyone stuck around, and for some reason followed me into my room.
"We're kinda.." Tails rubbed the back of his neck. "Waiting. At a loss of what to do, I guess."
The door burst open, and Amy came charging in. She leaped onto me, squeezing me and rubbing her cheek against mine. "A-Amy? You're awake?" I asked. "How do you f--"
"I was so worried! I'm glad you're okay! I thought we were gonna die! I thought you were gonna die especially but you pulled through! I was so lonely all week and couldn't stop thinking about you! Sonic, I missed you so much!" She talked a mile a minute and it was rather painful, but I didn't mind. I was glad to have the old Amy Rose back; the real Amy Rose.
"Well I'm glad you're okay, Amy," I decided to let her have another few moments on me before I complained about the pain, and looked past her at Tails. "Oh, Tails. What happened to my little buddy?"
"I had Shadow rush him to Cream before we left, so that he'd be safe." The fox answered simply.
I glanced at Shadow, who was leaned against the wall behind everyone else. "That true, Faker? Thanks."
"Hm. Whatever." The black hedgehog answered, keeping up his unfriendly ego.
"What are you talking about?" Amy asked, looking at me questioningly.
"It's a chao that your imposter-- er, Lavender had found when she was disguised as you."
She just looked at me blankly. "She found a chao? What all did she do as me?"
"Heh, not much.." I said, scratching the side of my head. "Actually, if you were in that cell for six days, that means.." I trailed off as I thought. "So wait, it was Lavender I went to that movie with on Wednesday, huh?"
Amy clenched her fists at her sides. "You went to a movie with her?" She growled out. I sweatdropped and held my hands up in surrender.
"I thought it was you, okay! You suggested to-- I mean, she suggested to hang out, so.. eh. How was I supposed to know!" Really it had been I who had asked her to hang out, but I didn't want to let her in on that.
Amy glared at me, and Tails smiled faintly. "Sonic had no way of knowing, Amy. My hypothesis is that she was trying to gather information about us, and lead us to that underwater base. But from what Sonic has told me, it doesn't seem like there was any reason for us to be there in the first place. Do you happen to know anything?"
Amy finally let go of me and sat on the edge of the bed. "That girl's name is Lavender. She is from some sort of ancient canine clan, but she wouldn't give me all that much information. All I know is that she can transform herself to look like other people - shapeshift. I never met her before she kidknapped me, so I don't know how she found me; but she had been threatening me for quite some time, sending me letters telling me to bring Sonic to certain meeting places that was specified, or she would kill me. She wanted Sonic, for some reason." Everybody stopped and looked me; I just shrugged. Amy continued. "I don't think he did anything, but I don't know what's going on. I do know that she wanted the Master and Chaos Emeralds, too. And also had control several of Eggman's toys, including Omega."
