I had only been in a relationship with Amy for about twenty-two hours, and I had already learned two important things.

One: I hated hearing her whine.

Two: She knew it, and liked to use it against me.

That being said, she got her way in wanting to accompany me while I went to investigate Eggman's little hideout. Rouge had GUN investigating the whole matter, especially the history of Clysta, but I wanted to find out things for myself. On the inside, I wanted to blame Eggman and get it over with. I knew he was up to no good, no matter what Knuckles said. I didn't care that he gave us back his portion of the Master Emerald; he had tricked us many times before, and I wasn't about to be tricked again.

We both just stood there, staring at where we were sure the hole used to be. Nothing was there; not even a sign that it had been covered up. It was just.. gone.

"Weird things happen when I'm with you, Amy. It's official." I said, half kidding. Instead of reacting, she took out her hammer and started pounding all over the ground. I sweatdropped. People who walked by or drove down the road gave us strange looks, and it wasn't helping that she wasn't getting anywhere.

She finally stopped, panting. "He said there was a door, right? Let's go look for it." She said, clenching her hammer and running down the street. I jogged up beside her, not too sure where she was going. It wasn't like the tunnel had been that long, anyway, so this 'door' wouldn't be too far away.

We both slowed to a stop, cars whizzing past us. Nothing but office buildings on either side of the street, and only shops way ahead of us.

"This doesn't make any sense!" Amy complained, spinning around to see me. "There's no entrance to underground anywhere.."

"Unless he was actually underneath one of the office buildings." I suggested. "Do you know what any of these places are?"

Amy shook her head. "I'll bet he's in the one right beside it, though. ..Of course! That's gotta be it!" She ran past me and back toward where we were before. I had no idea why she was acting so rushy, but I didn't say anything and only followed. I had gotten used to her weirdness over the years.

I ran up to her just as she stopped in front of a tall office building that stretched high into the sky, seemingly growing skinnier as it grew. I looked to her in question and she smiled. "Let's look here first." She said.

"And how do you suppose we do that?" I asked, crossing my arms and tapping my foot impatiently.

"Easy. We'll just go in there and ask what the place is."

We'd look like total idiots. I groaned a little. "Amy.."

Amy walked in. I had no choice but to follow.

Rather than an office building, it looked more like some sort of mansion on the inside. The tall walls and ceilings were a bright, clean white. A big, glass chandelier hung down in the middle of the room, and there was a tall staircase right beside the front desk. At the top was a balcony that looked over the main lobby room. There were a few chairs off to the side, along with a couch and a glass table.
