Rihanna's POV
Jimin's eyes lingered on my face for a few seconds, before trailing down to the the suitcase that was clasped between my fingers. His eyes flashed and his lips parted, unspoken words hanging in the air between us.
It felt like a scene from a movie. Where the two characters are stood facing each other, so many words that they want to say but can't bring themselves too. Like,
"Don't go"
or
"I'll miss you"
Words that in the big scheme of things, mean absolutely nothing. However, the whole scene I imagined playing out in my head was far from reality. Instead of confusion there was knowing and instead of understanding there was anger. He was denying everything to himself and I knew that without even asking.
"Why?" Jimin's lower lip trembled.
"It's the right thing to do" I explained, trying not to let the regret seep into my voice.
Jimin loosened his grip on the roses and continued to stare at my suitcase. He closed his eyes for a few seconds, as if he was trying to convince himself that it was all in his head.
But I stood as clear as day in front of him, readying myself to walk straight past him and leave everything behind.
"Turning your back is never the right thing to do" he denied.
"Turning my back is the only thing I can do" I took a step towards him, gently closing the door behind me.
"In my eyes that is what only a selfish, cowardly person would do" he spat.
Clenching my fists I shot back the words at him like bullets from a gun,
"Well would you turn your back on someone who helped fake the murder of their best friend?"
Jimin's face contorted and he threw the roses to the floor, dark red petals drifted towards me.
"I did that for you" his voice rose.
"I don't recall asking you to do that for me" I tried to match my voice with his.
Jimin clenched his fist and lifted his arm up before backing away and slamming it down again.
"You-" his voice wavered, "You don't know the full story"
"Enlighten me" I sneered.
Silence was heavy in the air.
"You know what" I decided, "I don't want to hear your cry for forgiveness"
I turned around swiftly, shoving my key into the door and locking it. I took in a deep breath before charging past Jimin, ignoring his pleading stares.
I didn't get far.
Looking down, I saw Jimin's fingers clasped around my wrist. He squeezed tightly, refusing to let me go. I tugged away from him but he held his grip, eyes darkening.
"Don't you dare walk away from me" he snarled. I knew he was trying to sound intimidating but he wasn't doing a good job at hiding the sadness in his voice.
"Or what?" I challenged.
He sighed in defeat, "Where are you even going to go?"
"Home" I replied, the word sending a warm feeling throughout my body.
"Home" his shoulders slouched, "You're lucky to have a place that you can call home"
I flinched at his words. I refused to let him get to me. I had made my decision and there was nothing he could do to change my mind. But his words sounded warning bells in my ears and I couldn't help but question him.
"What do you mean? You have a home" I was kidding myself.
"Ha" his laugh was lifeless, "I used to have a home"
"Jimin-"
"Leave it" he let go of my wrist and gave me a light shove, "Go"
I hesitated, unsure of what to do. I knew he was going to do this, guilt me into staying. It wasn't the most genius idea but it sure did work. If only he hadn't of been waiting outside my door with a big bunch of flowers and a sincere apology.
"Leave me like everyone else has" he added for effect.
"What do you mean?" I whined, tugging at his shirt.
"Just go Rihanna please" he shoved me harder causing me to almost lose my balance.
"Before I change my mind"
He sighed and closed his eyes. His eyelashes fluttered, long and dark.
I looked at him for one last time, trying to take him in. From his defined jawline and chiselled collarbone to his signature orange hair. I had to imagine his smile though, because he wasn't smiling now. His mouth was pulled into a thin line, a look of despair on his face. I looked away, not wanting this to be my last memory of him.
"Goodbye Park Jimin" I said as I turned my back and walked away.
He didn't hear me. He was just staring at the spot where I was stood moments before, tears sliding down his cheeks.
Jimin's POV
"Goodbye Rihanna Grey" I whispered.
She didn't hear me. She had walked away.
