Chapter 13:
Renee's POV:
I screamed even though I knew no one could hear me. Water rushed into my mouth, making me gag and choke.
"HELP!" I cried desperately. PLEASE let Zach be on patrol! The water tugged at me, trying to drag me under. Taking me to my grave. They won't know what happened to me! I began to panic and tried to reach out a grab a tree root. ANYTHING to drag myself out of the deadly water. The water roared in my ears. The sound of death. I was pulled under the current for a spilt second and came up spluttering. I was going to drown!
Niall's POV:
I heard a shrill scream while waiting at the boulder for Renee. I instinctively ran towards its source. I veered away from the cave and to the river where the lads and I usually got drinking water. I definitely heard someone. The darkness made it hard to see and I struggled to make out an outline. I finally saw a figure in the water struggling to save themselves.
"Hold on!" I called out, kicking my shoes off. "I'm coming!"
I lept into the freezing cold water and fought the current to get to the person. I could see their futile attempts to stay afloat were weakening and finally, stop. I swam faster towards them. I reached the limp body and grabbed them, pulling them to shore. It was Renee.
