Chapter 12:

I told Niall I couldn't make it tonight. Maddie and the group were catching on and I was to tired to stand up. Liam should be okay for one night... Wait! Who cares if he is or not!? He's the enemy! As soon as his wound has healed and they've left, I'm giving Maddie a lead on where they are! I felt my stomach knot up. But why? I should be happy at the thought of them leaving! And I am! I could care less If any of them lived or died! That's the way I should be thinking! I stomped into my room and threw myself onto my bed. I really needed a break. But the sooner Liam heals, the sooner they're away from me!

I was making my way through the woods to the boulder the following night. When I reached it, I noticed Niall wasn't there. I called his name softly and looked around. No one. I shrugged. I knew the way to the cave by now... I think... I made my way along the path, feeling along the trees as a guide. After about ten minutes I knew I'd gotten myself lost. Perfect. Just peachy! I made my way on a path to my left and heard a river roaring nearby. I hesitated, wondering if I should go back. There was no river near the cave. Maybe it was another route? I walked along and felt mud squish under my feet. Pulling my feet up in large steps, I heard the water roaring louder. i was getting closer. i stopped walking straight and instead, walked along the narrow river bank. I stepped on what seemed like a wet rock and felt my feet give way under me. Before I knew it, I was pulled into the river.
