Chapter 24

Chapter 24:

Renee's POV:

I burst through the undergrowth, blindly dashing towards the cave. I had to reach it before those beasts did. I had to warn Niall!

"What are you...?" Harry asked when I bounded in.

"Renee!" Niall ran up to me and took my hand. "You aren't supposed to be here until to tonight!"

"Please just listen." I looked into his worried green eyes. "You all have to leave. NOW."

"We can't!" Liam is still hurt! He can't travel!" Zayn objected, hatred in his eyes.

"He has to." I begged. "Maddie hired an assassin and at the moment, two mutant hounds are on their way to find you!"

"Hounds!?" Liam cried fearfully.

"Wait... How would she know we were here..?" Louis circled me. "YOU TOLD HER!"

"No!" I cried. "Please! You have to understand!"

"Oh, we understand! I knew you couldn't be trusted!" Harry hissed.

"Please.." I felt tears well up in my eyes.

"Everyone stop!" Niall shouted softly. "We don't know if she did or not. We will fall back deeper into the cave. Tonight, we will move locations." Niall looked to me. "And you must help us."

"Of course Niall." I sighed dreamily.

Harry gagged and looked away. "Fine. But if I find out she betrayed us..."

"She won't." Niall assured them.

"Okay..." Harry nodded, giving up. "Come back at 9:00, no later."

"I will be here." I nodded.

Maddie's POV:

I decided to take a nap to clear my thoughts. I lay down and fell into a restless sleep. I saw Renee and... And... I couldn't really tell. It looked like... Niall! I screamed at her but she couldn't hear me and Niall leaned in to kiss her. This... This wasn't true... It was a lie! She wouldn't do this! Not to me! No... I tried to run towards them but I was frozen in place. I couldn't move. I knew it was a dream but it was so vivid and real... I woke up screaming and looked around frantically. My room was the same. No Niall. No Renee. It was a dream. Not real. Not real. I willed myself to keep thinking that. I stumbled into the living quarters and collapsed on the couch. Sofia, Rayanne, Tia, Gabby and Jill all looked at me worriedly.

"Where. Is. Renee." I muttered through clenched teeth.

"She left not to long ago.." Jill looked towards the door.

"We're going after her." I stood up weakly.

"Why!?" Rayanne asked, matching me stride for stride. "What's wrong."

"I hope nothing is." I mumbled. "Everyone, lets go."

"Is she in danger!?" Sofia asked quizzically.

"Maybe from me." I growled. "It'll all come together when I find her..."
