"That . . . that was scary," Rose blew out a breath as she collapsed into the captain's chair.
"What bit?" the Doctor asked as he bent down to take a look back under the console.
"Not the Isolus," Rose shook her head, chewing her lip. "Anna, being taken like that, right from under our noses. And there was nothing we could've done to stop it."
"Yeah," the Doctor stopped what he was doing. "That was terrifying. My worst nightmare."
"I assume I wasn't the only one who wanted to murder the Isolus for that?"
"You'd've had to get in line," the Doctor chuckled darkly, standing up. "No one messes with my Mara."
Rose tilted her head. "You said earlier that she was as good as my kid. What did you mean by that?"
"You're kidding, aren't you?" the Doctor snorted. "Have you seen yourself with her? Take me out of the equation, you two could be living on Earth all on your own and no one would bat an eye. You're a perfect mother for her."
Rose blushed. "Really?"
"Really," he nodded sincerely. "It's beautiful to watch, actually. Seriously, I should put that on my will. Should I permanently die, my daughter Annakamara shall pass onto Rose Tyler."
"Oh, don't talk about dying again," Rose winced. "That's . . . that's not funny after today."
"Sorry."
Rose sighed, dropping her head into her hands. "A storm's approaching," she quoted from earlier, seeing the Doctor stiffen. "What's going to happen, Doctor?"
"I don't know, Rose," he whispered. "And that's what scares me. I nearly lost Mara today. I can't come that close to losing either of you again."
"Well, here's my second promise concerning her," Rose stood up, walking over to him, and taking his hands. "As long as I'm on this TARDIS, you will never come that close to losing her again."
The Doctor shook his head. "You can't promise that, Rose."
"I can sure as hell try."
He closed his eyes. "What did we ever do to deserve you?"
"You tell me," she grinned, her tongue in her teeth. "You're the one who asked me twice and dropped a daughter in my lap."
"So, as long as you're on this TARDIS, huh?" the Doctor asked, going around the console. "So, how long are you going to stay with us, then?"
Rose grinned at him. "Forever."
He grinned back, flipping a lever, sending them off.

In her bedroom, Anna sat bolt upright, whimpering. She had had nightmares before, but nothing like she had just had.
Cybermen. Daleks. Jake, Mickey, and Pete.
That wasn't what had scared her. What had scared her was what they all had in common.
Torchwood.
She whimpered, curling up into a ball, eyes wide as she tried to calm down enough to sleep. "A storm's approaching," she whispered, remembering what her father had said earlier during the fireworks.
A storm approaching, indeed. And she didn't like the storm one bit.

And we all know what storm that is. :(
But first, to Smidarrio! Time to find out who the Impossible Girl is! "The Name of the Doctor" is next!
