Chapter 23

TIM POV: I am almost done with my first album. I'm just not too sure I'm happy with it, but the label and everyone keeps telling me, it's good. I just don't feel comfortable but I don't want to say anything being so new and all. I don't want this to ruin my short recording career. I got home before Faith, so I thought I'd surprise her by cooking dinner. As I was almost done when she walked in. I went in the living room. "hey"  "Hey" "Whats wrong?" "I have some news.." "What is it?"  She than handed me this large envelope. "What is this?" "Just open it" she said. I opened and as I read it, I knew it was it. "is this for real?" She smiled. "Yes!" "oh baby I'm so happy for you! so how? when?" I asked as I gave her a big hug. "Well as I was about to leave work, Nancy came up to me wanting to speak with me. I thought I was in trouble or fired! Than she handed me this. She told me one of the assistant managers John, was apparently there at the Bluebird the other night. He saw me perform. He told the label how good I was. He than apparently recorded me and played it for them. They were completely blown away and wants to sign  me" "so you're going to right?" "Oh heck yeah! But I just want yours and Gary's opinion and to help me read over everything before signing" "I can do that" "thanks" "so what smells so good?" "Well I'm cooking you dinner" "Oh wow, and what is it you're making?" "it's a surprise, now go relax, it won't be ready for a little while" "okay"  "Faith..dinner's ready" "okay coming" "oh wow Tim! I didn't know you could cook..well cook this especially" I made chicken and dumplings, my grandmother gave me the recipe before I moved to Nashville. "how did you know how to make this?" "It's a secret now try it" "okay" "well what do you think?" "this is really amazing" "thanks" "now tell me how did you learn how to make these?" "well honestly this is my first time making these. My grandmother gave me the recipe before we moved here" "oh wow, well it's very good" After I dinner I cleaned up everything.  I went to the bedroom and Faith was lying down in the bed reading. "hey whatcha reading?" "The contract" "oh here let me see that" she than handed it to me. I read over everything "so what do you think?" "I think you need to sign this" "that's what I was thinking also" I gave her a kiss. We than just relaxed the rest of the evening.
