There was this bedroom in my lola's house in Baliuag, Bulacan where I used to sleep. I had a big bed that was custom-fitted from wall to wall. The two sides of the bed were adjacent to the windows of the room. The other side adjoins a headboard. It was customary for me not to sleep with my head adjacent to the headboard but on the opposite side instead near the window as I always left the windows wide open. One night when I was about to sleep earlier than usual at about 10-11 pm and as I lay on the bed, I heard a faint breathing just above my head on the right side. As I raised up my head to see what it was, I was horrified to see a man's head, completely still and staring blankly towards the open door. His face was pale and sullen with piercing eyes. It could not have been some prankster because the head was jutting through the iron grills of the window. I was bathed in terror. I tried to scream but I nothing came out of my mouth. Then I realized this entity was looking at my father who was sound asleep on the floor just beyond the door. I tried to get up but I cant move. My body was numb, almost paralyzed but somehow, after much effort, I managed to extricate myself out of bed toward my father calling out his name. When my father was roused from his sleep because of my scream, the entity was gone. My father said it could have been his elder brother who tragically died many years back. I never knew my uncle because he died before i was born. My father told me they were the best of buddies.
