【Jeff's POV】
". . . And for all the kids in this neighborhood, there is a small price to pay for the bus fare." The Randy kid sneered at us.
Liu strode towards him angrily and aimed his fist at him but stopped when the kid pulled out a knife from his pocket. Liu backed away as he gave him a death glare.
"I had hoped that you would be more cooperative but it seems we must do this . . . the hard way." He stepped closer to us with his knife aimed at Liu as he grabbed Liu's wallet from him.
I suddenly felt the same feeling as yesterday, this time it was stronger. A lot more stronger. My heartbeat sped up, my breathing was ragged, I didn't stop to think. I walked over Randy with a scowl.
"Listen here, you a-hole. Give his wallet back or else." My voice unexpectedly came out hoarse and low. I ignored Marika and Liu who were trying to talk me out of it.
"And what will you do if I didn't?" He smirked at me.
I furiously threw a punch right on his face as he swung his knife on me. Sadly, I caught his hand and put all my strength to break his wrist. I heard him scream in pain as he dropped on his knees and held his broken hand. I enjoyed the pitiful sight.
His agony made me happy. Looking down on him in an unbearable state, something inside me was shock and ashamed because of what I'd done but this amusement I felt overpowered that. I liked it.
I glanced behind me and saw the other two charging at me. I quickly grabbed Randy's knife and gave him a good strong kick in the head, making him black out. The skinny guy brought out another pocket knife and slashed out on me but I easily avoided it, I stabbed his arm with the knife I was holding and he fell beside Randy. The fat assed kid ran up to me, I grinned and gave him a powerful punch in the stomach. He fell down and held his oversized stomach as he puked all over the place.
I looked at what I did, it felt amazing . . . like I want to hurt more and more people. It was amusing and fun to see their wretched face scream in pain!
"Jeff . . ." A voice said which made me snap out of my dangerous thoughts. I looked behind me and saw Marika, she looked . . . frightened. Liu also had this weird look on his face like he couldn't believe what he was seeing.
"Marika . . ." I walked closer to her but she just backed away. I realized what I had done, I glanced behind me and saw the three on the floor. Holy shit . . . What did I just do?
I was going to try and reason with Liu and Marika but we heard the sound of the bus from afar. We knew this was trouble and that we'd be blame for this so we ran away from the scene. I looked back while running and saw the bus driver helping them . . .
We parted ways with Liu since he's in college, he was clearly weirded out by what happened. Marika and I walked all the way to the new school with nothing but silence. We didn't dare talk about it, we just kept walking until we reached class and studied all day long.
Marika sat beside me and I noticed how she'd occasionally glance at me. I couldn't remove her scared face out of my mind when she saw me beat up those kids.
It was that feeling.
It urged me to do something evil and dangerous, it makes me want to hurt somebody and what's bad is that I actually had fun while doing so. I didn't like it but at the same time, I feel great inside as I replayed myself beating up those kids in my mind. The happiness I got when I knew that i'm the reason they're hurt was just . . . wonderful . . .
The rest of the day was boring and I think I became . . . normal? I mean the feeling was gone. Marika and I were walking back home, not even daring to take the bus. She hasn't said a single word to me at all.
"So . . ." I started. "Today was . . . Weird."
"Yeah, you seem . . . different." She whimpered. "Are you alright?"
"Yes, I just . . ."
I thought for a moment, maybe it's best not to tell anyone about that strange feeling. Nobody would understand it anyway . . .
"I just didn't want them to hurt you or Liu." I lied with a gentle smile.
She smiled back at me, All of a sudden there was that feeling again but this time it's just a tiny bit.
【Marika's POV】
I'm a bit worried about Jeff but I'm glad he seems normal again. We walked for quite a while and the moonlight shone from above. Geez, what time is it?
A while later we finally reached our new home, I rang the door bell and waited for them to open the door. Mom greeted us with a smile as she urged us to come inside.
"How was your first day?" She grinned. I gave out a boring shrug to show that I hated it.
"It was a wonderful day . . ." Jeff suddenly said in an ominous voice behind me. The way he said it made goosebumps appear on my arms. His voice was different, it was ow and really creepy. I turned around and looked into his eye and touched his arm lightly to snap him out of it. What exactly is happening to him?
I heard footsteps and saw Liu walking towards us from upstairs. He gave us a stern look but we know exactly what it meant.
He wants us to keep quiet about the incident.
I gave him an reassuring smile as the three of us headed to the dining room. Liu, Jeff and I had dinner. Mom said she's going to have dinner with dad when he gets back from work. Typical lovey-dovey stuff.
"Hey . . ." Liu whispered at us. "Don't say a single thing about it."
"What if they found out?" I whispered back.
"I'll figure something out, but in the mean time, just zip it." He continued. Jeff and I gave a nod and proceed on eating. After dinner, I took a bath and went inside my room.
Oh, the furniture is all set. Neat. I laid down on my bed and got a bit scared, this small room feels big when you're alone . . . it's creepy. I tossed and turned but I couldn't sleep at all. A lot of things were bugging me, especially this morning . . .
I sighed and stood up, I decided to check up on Jeff, he's not his normal self today . . . I wonder why.
I knocked and went in. Jeff was sitting on his bed, he seems to be in deep thought. I sat beside him and eyed him, he looked at me with an emotionless face.
"So, are you finally going to tell me what's up?" I asked. He was silent for a few minutes.
". . . I . . . I had this weird feeling today. It . . . made me want to hurt somebody." He hesitantly replied.
"Hurt somebody?" I furrowed my brows in confusion.
". . . When I hurt them, I felt happy." He buried his face on his hands and sighed. "I actually enjoyed hurting them . . . but I know it was wrong, very wrong . . ."
I didn't know what to say at all, Jeff enjoying hurting someone is new to me. I silently hugged him and he squeezed me back. This was all I could do right now.
"Everything's going to be alright." I cooed, I felt him hug me tighter.
"Can you . . . can you stay with me tonight?" He asked as he let go. Of course I couldn't refuse, he needs someone to be there for him and I'll be glad to help even just for a bit.
I nodded and went under the covers, he did the same and hugged me. It's been a while since we slept together. I really missed his warmth . . .
I wonder what will happen tomorrow?
