Marika's POV

Three days had gone by already, I already forgot about the mysterious figure I saw before and there was nothing to do in this deserted cabin, all I kept on doing is listen to music on my phone, charge it, play games, charge it again. There's no frickin' signal in this place, I know because I literally climbed the roof but still nothing. Right now, I'm sitting in the living room with Billy and Grandma Rose, drinking hot coco while Grandpa Ben tells us about his adventures when he was young. I guess grandpa Ben has a interesting life, he was pretty adventurous with all the skydiving, mountain hiking, hunting, sailing, camping and stuff.

"Then, when I met the most beautiful woman in the world, I finally settled in this ol' house. I built this house myself, ya hear?" Grandpa Ben chuckled as he remembered. "When I saw Rose, I just knew she was the one, and here we are, 32 years later." He held grandma Rose's hand as he said, she kissed him on the cheek in return with a loving smile.

"No, grandpa, gross!" Billy shuddered and turned beet red beside me. I just laughed at him, I think old people's romance is a sweet thing. It's really wonderful how they stayed together for this long, it's heartwarming.

"Hey, kids." Robert said as he walked down the stairs. "I'm going down town, wanna come?" He stopped in front of us as he put his coat on. I abruptly stood up, I seriously want to know about that town, it's interesting being in a rural place.

"I'll go." Billy also stood up and ran upstairs.

"Me too." I quietly mumbled. I'm more used to being with grandpa Ben and grandma Rose than Mr. and Mrs. Johnson but I wanna check it out.

"Oh, Billy! Bring a coat for Marika too while you're at it!" Robert yelled. After a few seconds, Billy came down wearing a brown coat while carrying a light brown one with him. He tossed it towards me and I clumsily caught it.

"Right, let's go." Robert cheered as he went out. "Bye, mom, dad." He added with a smile before they both walked out the front door.

"Good bye, thank you for the wonderful stories." I smiled, I feel comfortable around them.

"Be safe, there are a few bad and rude ones out there." Grandma Rose warned. I gave them a nod before opening the front door, the cold wind invaded the house so I immediately went out and shut the door.

Damn, it's colder than usual. I ran along the snowy path, tripping a few times here and there because of the thick snow. Soon enough, I caught up with them, panting heavily. I really should exercise more.

I hugged myself tighter with every minute passing by, the forest looks a bit dark today and it's snowing really hard. Several minutes later, we reached their little car and got inside, I gave out a loud sigh as we hid from the cold. Robert had a little trouble while starting the car but luckily, the engine started. We drove away from the narrow path and silently stared at nothing while Robert put his earphones on, listening to whatever music he had on his phone, awkward . . .

The road was rough, piles of snow had covered it, making our trip a turbulent one. I'm literally bouncing up and down while Billy is sitten properly, I notice he was wearing his seatbelt. Geez, uncle Robert can't even hear or see me being shaken up.

In the end, I fell on the car floor with Billy laughing at me, I gave him a short glare before picking myself up. The car ride was momentarily stable so I took this as a chance to sit down and wear my seatbelt.

"You should have told me to wear it!" I complained, he just shrugged and looked out the window.

A few minutes of riding the rocket ship-I mean, car, was all it took to reach the town. As expected, covered in snow. Robert parked the car in front of an ancient-looking store and turned the engine off. He got out and so did we, we hurriedly entered the 'store' due to the strong wind that could almost blow you all the way to another country. I'm not exaggerating.
