「Okay, I really have to switch POVs in this chapter」
【Jeff's POV】
"Where is she!?" I shouted, gripping Jane's collar.
"I don't know, Jeff." She said, her voice dripping with sarcasm.
Slowly, my hands involuntarily found their way around her neck, "Jane, I swear to God, tell me where she is."
"Or you'll what?" She dared, "Hurt me? Kill me?" Jane scoffed and shoved me away, "Do that and you'll never see her again . . . much less see her alive." she crossed her arms, knowing that she was winning, "Let's just say your brother and sister are having a family reunion as we speak."
"What the hell do you want from me?" I spat as I glared at her.
"I told you before, Jeff," I could almost see the smirk hiding under that mask as she spoke, "I want you to kill, to be insane once again." She said as she paced around the living room.
"There is no way that will ever happen again." I scowled. What the fuck is she even thinking?
"Yeah, unless it's for your dear sister." she retorted, "Let me cut to the chase, which lives do you want to take? People who deserves it or her?"
"No one deserves to die, you crazy bitch." I said before I even knew it.
Suddenly, she began laughing, "Oh, that's the least I expected to hear from you!" her laughing died down, "Have you forgotten who you were before? How many lives you took? Don't give me that bullshit."
I balled my hands in fists. It was true, but if there's one thing I know, it's that I'll never murder anybody again. I'm done, I can't go back to that life, it's hell itself.
"Why are you doing this?" I said in a low tone.
"I don't know, why do you think?" She laughed, "Come on, Jeff, I'm growing impatient." She walked around the couches. Suddenly, she stopped, her eyes gazing at the knife laying on the table. I didn't dare touch it, afraid of the feeling that once took control over me, "Is this . . ?" She trailed off as she grabbed the blade, "Oh, it is. Why do you still have this, Jeffrey?" She grew amused, "Here," she tossed it in my direction as I impulsively caught it, "Don't you remember the feeling when you've taken another life? It's was quite fun, wasn't it?"
"No . . ." I absentmindedly muttered as I stared at the knife. It's been long since I last held it and I know deep down, I can't control myself once I start murdering again, the same feeling will take over me, I will be blinded by the same madness. It's going to repeat all over again.
"Jeff . . . you know you don't have a choice-unless you want your pretty little girlfriend to die a painful death." Jane let out a small giggle.
What can I do?
I won't let Marika suffer for the things I've caused, but to murder people again?
. . . I fear the insanity that it will bring. I fear losing myself to the same sinful reason; the joy of killing. The satisfaction I get from doing so is wonderfully inhumane, it's like an addiction.
The screams I'd hear as I slowly came forth towards them, the piercing shrills they'd make as I raise my knife, the feeling of the blade plunging into their weak bodies and their faces, bloody and frozen in the look of fear as they breathe their last . . .
Snap out of it!
I shook my head out of my thoughts. It's already starting . . . I'm starting to lose myself against it. What am I supposed to do?
