"I'm as good as can be expected." She said instead, looking away from his intense gaze for a moment to collect herself. When she returned her gaze to him she asked bluntly. "Are you Alpha Blayne?"
He nodded, and Akira also nodded. "I need to speak with you, privately." She said more quietly, noticing the crowd that had now developed around them. Blayne nodded again, then turned his attention to the crowd, with just the one look they scattered.
"Follow me." Blayne said, not bothering to wait for Akira's reply he turned and began to walk away. Akira quickly moved forward, catching up to him. Thankfully they didn't walk far before they were inside the pack house and to his study. Akira followed him inside, and shut the door behind herself. She waited for him to take his seat at his desk before she followed suit, taking a seat in front.
Akira wanted to shrink in size because of his intese gaze but she also felt warm? Pushing her confusion aside she straightened her shoulders. "My father," she swallowed the lump again before continuing. "was murdered..." As she said it aloud, she noticed that his eyes softened.
"I know." He said, and she nodded. "He told me that if anything." She paused again, swallowing the lump. "That if anything happened to him I was to come to you."
Blayne smiled sadly, "I'm happy you did, but why didn't you tell your uncle?" He asked her. But Akira blinked in confusion. "H-how did you know?" She shook her head, "I didn't tell him because I knew he'd try to stop me from coming, and I couldn't let him. My father told me this before he died. It was my Alpha and my fathers last order to me." But, now here she is. And, she had no idea what to do now. Why would her father tell her to come here? She was so lost in thought, in her confusion that she hadn't realized that Blayne had stood up and moved to the front of the desk. His arms were crossed over his chest making his biceps bulge considerably against the tight black material they called a shirt.
Akira found herself fascinated by the way his muscles rippled with each slight movement. She heard someone clear their throat and her eyes snapped up to his, her face instantly turned the shade of a tomato. She'd been caught checking him out! How embarrassing.
"Did your father tell you why you were to come to me if something happened to him?" He asked slowly, cautiously.
No! She wanted to scream. She knew that there was more to why her father wanted her to come to Blayne but she didn't know what it was. She shook her head, "no. Only that I was to come here." The more Blayne spoke the more restless Akira became, his voice did something to her. His entire presence did something to her and she was nervous as to why.
"Do you know where the Red Pack went?" He asked, his face morphing into barely contained rage.
Akira shook her head quickly, "no. I haven't seen them since that night." She said quietly. Wishing she could just forget that horrific night.
He nodded, his eyes holding the distant look that Akira knew all to well. He was contacting someone through mind-link. Akira stood casually. "So..." She trailed off, unsure of what to do now. "I should go..." But, before she could even take a step towards the door Blayne was moving towards her. She didn't have anywhere to go but backwards, so she took a step back. The back of her knees hit the chair, and she reclaimed the seat she'd just stood up from with a 'oomph.' Akira looked up into Blaynes eyes, her own eyes wide with shock.
"You will have to stay here Akira." He stated as he loomed over her. "You are now under my protection and since we know what the Alpha wants it wouldn't be wise for you to leave now." He had said it so calmly, but Akira's heart wasn't calm at all.
Her heart hammered beneath her chest so loudly she feared he'd hear it. "I can't stay Alpha."
He didn't even bother to reply as he gave her space. The door behind them suddenly opened revealing two men who grabbed onto Akira's arms gently. Akira however didn't react kindly, she yanked her arms out of their grips and glared. "Don't touch me again." She growled, the two men visibly paled, but looked to their Alpha who seemed amused.
Blayne nodded to them, and they once again grabbed hold of Akira this time holding her more firmly. Even as she struggled she couldn't get free. Akira turned to glare at Blayne, but he had his back to her. Her mind was in a uproar, how dare he do this! Her father had sent her here for what reason? To be imprisoned? The males began to drag her from the room, but before they were completely out of the room Blayne spoke. "Please Akira don't think badly of me, your father was a dear friend of mine, almost like a father. I couldn't forgive myself if he entrusted me with his daughter only to let her go and something happen."
The softness of his voice and also the agony she could hear made her calm down and stop fighting the two over grown giants. She sighed but didn't say anything more as they took her from the room and led her upstairs to what she assumed would be her new home for the time being.
Akira stood there and waited for them to open the door, once it was open she moved inside. "Here is the room you'll use for the time being, please make yourself comfortable." One of the men had said to her. She looked over her shoulder and nodded. She heard to door close gently behind her. But, her focus was on the big bed. She wanted nothing more than to run and jump on top of it. Just before she did just that, she remembered just how dirty she was. So changing direction she moved toward what she hoped was a bathroom. She grinned when it was indeed a bathroom, and was thankful that it was fully stocked with shampoo and all the essentials she needed.
Quickly stripping out of her dirty cloths, she wasted no time putting the shower on. She almost groaned with need as she watched the steam leave the shower. She only prayed that the hot water helped her aches and pains. She moved inside the shower and let out a moan as the water cascaded over her aching body. She didn't feel like taking an overly long one so she washed and got out. More than anything she wanted to sleep.
Hurrying through her shower, she got out only to remember that she didn't have any extra clothing with her. Shrugging, she wrapped the towel around herself and left the bathroom. Akira walked to the bed, and sat down.
Her mind immediately thought of her father. How was she to do all of this alone? Why couldn't he be here with her? Akira was always a people person, but now she felt so alone. Her eyes welled with tears and this time she didn't blink them back. She let them fall. She missed her father so much it hurt, and she'd do just about anything to have him back. She didn't know how long she'd sat there crying her misery out, but her body suddenly felt overly tired, so tired she had difficulty keeping her eyes open. She was sure she was about to doze off when a sudden knock made her open her eyes. When the door opened, it revealed an older woman who had what seemed to be a tray of food with her.
"Hello dear. Alpha Blayne sent me with food, he was sure you'd be hungry and thirsty after your trip. He also had me pick up some cloths as he was sure you'd want to shower away all the dirt." She said sweetly, Akira was about to thank her when her stomach suddenly growled loudly, causing her to blush.
