Once Akira knew she wouldn't be able to reach his throat, she went for anything that she could. She latched on to his arm and gave a mighty pull. Darrel screamed in pain, and she felt something hitting her in the back of the head, and assumed it was Darrel's free arm but Akira refused to let go.
Akira gave another yank and tore a chunk of his skin. Akira seen the opening to his throat and lunged but was caught off guard by how quick he was. He had used his uninjured arm and swung full force slamming his fist into Akira's jaw. Akira staggered off of Darrel and before she could recover Darrel's foot slammed into her ribs, sending her flying against the wall. She yelped at the contact of the wall and fell onto the wooden desk that gave way with her weight. Akira shook her head, tasting blood in her mouth that wasn't her own. She turned to look at Darrel and all she seen was red. Akira was feeling the blood lust. She wanted Darrel dead, and now that she'd gotten a taste for his blood she wanted it pouring out, and pooling around his dead body.
Akira snarled and got up, the time that it took her to recover Darrel had taken advantage of it and shifted, but that didn't stop Akira from lunging at him. Akira quickly grabbed a mouth full of his skin, yanking and slightly slinging him before releasing. She watched as he yelped trying to use his injured leg but that pain didn't slow him down. He barreled into Akira and they snapped and snarled at each other, biting any part they could of each other.
Darrel moved suddenly, sinking his canines into Akira's already injured ribs. Akira howled in pain, and figured silently that this would be it, that this would be her death. She suddenly took a whiff and smelt the intoxicating scent of her mate.
Her body suddenly drained of all strength and she fell, she tried to braise herself for the ground to meet her but she never felt any pain. She felt tingles and warmth surrounding her and knew instantly that it was Blayne. Akira felt Blayne's eyes on her, could feel his rage and guilt and also the regret but Akira didn't even have the strength to comfort him.
"Find him!" Blayne shouted to his fighter's without taking his eyes off of Akira. Seeing her so bloodied and bruised kill something in him. He didn't have a way of explaining the immense pain it caused him or his beast to see their mate in such a state. As her mate he was her protector and he'd failed. "Don't worry baby we're going to get you home." Blayne whispered, unnerved by how still she was in his arms.
Blayne held Akira close to him, trying to cover his mate's nakedness from the other's around him. He seen something hanging beside him from his peripheral and turned to see Thomas standing there with his head turned away, holding a shirt out.
"She- I uh- figured you'd want something to cover her up." Thomas said, a small streak of red coating his cheeks.
Akira kept going in and out of conscienceless but she realized what Thomas had said and if she were able she would have thanked him for his thoughtfulness. Blayne accepted the shirt and covered his mate as best he could at the moment. "Report." Blayne said coldly.
"All exterminated. Darrel is inside the house we seen Akira come out of." Thomas said.
Blayne nodded, "good I want to kill hi-" Thomas instantly clarified, "He's already dead Alpha." Blayne froze at that and looked down at his small and vulnerable mate. Knowing exactly what she had done. But all Blayne could feel was admiration and proudness. "Good, then lets go home."
Akira wanted to smile at the thought of going home, where she could shower and sleep. Her body felt heavier by the minute and she just couldn't hold back any longer.
Blayne froze suddenly when he felt Akira go completely limp in his arms. He looked down at her pale face, and a new wave of fear hit him. "Akira? Akira wake up! Come on baby." Blayne begged, barely restraining himself from shaking her.
Thomas walked over quickly, kneeling beside his Alpha and Luna. He put his finger's beneath Akira's nose and sighed in relief though his face still furrowed in concern, he then checked her pulse and frowned. "She's alive, but her heart beat is weak. We have to get her home now." Thomas tried to sound calm, and could almost smack himself when his own worry laced his voice.
Blayne stood and yelled to pack that they were leaving. Both Blayne and Thomas took turns holding Akira as they ran. The last two miles, Blayne ordered the pack doctor to be in his room and read for them. Blayne looked down at Akira and noticed she'd grown even palier if possible. He held her close to his chest, "come on baby, stay with me we're almost there. Please don't leave me!" Blayne whispered.
It felt like it took more time than it actually did to make it back to the pack house, but when Blayne finally got there the pack was in chaos. Every member had cleared out of Blaynes way but they all worried about their Luna. Blayne ignored them all as he carried Akira up to their room, Edna was already there. Blayne had seen her eyes widen as she looked at Akira but other wise she stayed quiet. She had seen a lot over the years, but this was her Luna.
Enda instructed Blayne to set Akira down on the bed, then turned to him. "I need you to leave." She said sternly.
