She also noticed he looked spaced out. Akira stopped, waiting and waiting. Thomas suddenly looked up and smiled when he noticed Akira but then his face quickly turned into one of concern.

"It took you long enough to notice me!" Akira accused, faking hurt.

Thomas chuckled and stopped right in front of Akira. He couldn't stop himself from looking at her bruises and it filled him with renewed rage.

Akira noticed the anger in Thomas's eyes, and mentally compared him to Blayne. "I'm fine Thomas."

"Are you sure? You look a whole lot better than the last time I'd seen you, but- inside? Are you okay?" Thomas felt embarrassed for asking such a personal question.

Akira stared at him for a moment not understanding what he meant, but then noticed that Thomas was averting his eyes away from her. She blushed brightly. "I- As far as I know I'm in top shape now, minus the bruises."

Thomas breathed relieved. "I'm happy to hear that." Thomas suddenly hugged Akira tightly, yet gently.

Akira gasped, not expecting the affection from Thomas. She'd known him for a very long time, and considered him to be like a brother to her but they were never affectionate with one another. Regardless Akira hugged him back, sighing.

"I'm happy your okay. Blayne was running us like crazy trying to find you."

Akira giggled getting images of Blayne. "I'm sorry Blayne ran you like a maniac. Your one of the best tracker's I know, I knew that you'd find me." She did know that, even though at the time she didn't think of it.

Thomas took a slight step back, shaking his head. "Nope. Blayne tracked you. Yours and his bond made it easier so once he had your scent it was over."

Akira was about to reply until she heard a low growl coming from behind Thomas. Thomas had stiffened slightly and when Akira looked up into his face she seen the amusement.

Blayne hadn't expected to walked back up the stair's and see his mate in Thomas's arms, and though he knew very well that Thomas wouldn't do or try anything with his mate it didn't matter. The growl was instinct. "Thomas." Blayne said calmly yet even he could hear the deadly threat in his voice.

Akira blinked up at Thomas and watched as Thomas slowly let her go, and turned towards Blayne with his hands up in surrender. "I swear it wasn't as bad as it may have looked." Akira looked to Blayne and her eyes widened slightly. Blayne looked deadly, dangerous and all too tempting to Akira.

Blayne took a step forward, wanting to put some distance between Thomas and Akira but was cut off when Akira suddenly appeared in front of him. "What is wrong with you?! This is not only your Beta, but your best friend. He was just happy that I was alright! It was just a hug you overprotective oaf. " Akira couldn't believe that he'd move on Thomas like he was an enemy and it honestly upset her.

Blayne growled, "It didn't look like a simple hug from where I was standing! He could have let you go but he held on! Now his scent is mixed with yours, and you smell like him!" Blayne looked past Akira and glared daggers at Thomas, who was slightly blushing with a bit of guilt.

"Alpha I swear I meant no disrespect. Akira is like a little sister to me." Thomas trying to defuse the growing tension that seemed to be closing in the hallway.

Akira glared up at her mate, and smacked him on the chest. His eyes instantly snapped down to hers. "Knock it off! I'm your mate, and I love you so stop acting like a jealous beast!" Akira felt like running away when Blayne's eyes held an unknown intensity, but she knew that he'd never hurt her and she needed to stand her ground.

"Leave Thomas." Blayne said without looking way from his mate. Blayne reached out and grabbed hold of Akira's chin, ignoring her glare. "Your very sexy when your irritated." Blayne cooed teasingly thought he meant every word. When she'd slapped him, he was instantly turned on.

Akira blushed and sighed. "I should stay irritated at you. There was no reason for you to act like that towards Thomas and you know it." Akira scolded.

Blayne sighed, and nodded. "I know that. And I'm sorry, but I couldn't control it."

Akira poked his chest. "You need to apologize to him, not me. He's a faithful Beta and an even more loyal friend."

Blayne nodded. "I'll apologize to him the next time I see him. But for now I want you to follow me, if you feel up to it?" Blayne suddenly felt nervous. He had been busy this last time to prepare something special for Akira. Something that he did himself, so that he could show Akira just how much she meant to him.

Akira could see the nervousness on Blayne's face but didn't mention it. She nodded her head and followed Blayne. She felt a bit nervous about being in the forest so late at night, she supposed it was a side effect from what had happened with Darrel. Akira felt Blayne's hand tighten a bit, and she calmed down.

They'd walked for a while, and Blayne had carried Akira most of the way not wanting to tire her out. Blayne stopped and smiled down at his mate. "Close your eyes."

Akira looked up at Blayne skeptically and slowly closed her eyes, she could feel him walk forward and then he slowly put her on the ground. He had hold of her hands in the beginning but then slowly slid his hands out of hers, she felt nervous without the contact and was just about to call him back when he spoke. "Open your eyes." Akira slowly opened her eyes, and blinked as her breath caught at the sight. Blayne had laid out a blanket, with a single candle in the middle. The moon was high and they were in an open space so the moon had illuminated the blanket. It was absolutely beautiful and very romantic.

Akira looked up to Blayne with the biggest smile she could muster, she ran to him and leaped into his arms, her lips crashing against his. "Thank you! Thank you, its so beautiful. But why?" Akira was curious why he did this.

Blayne grabbed Akira's hand and led her to the blanket, gesturing for her to sit. "I needed to do this for you. I wanted to show you how special you are to me, how much I need and want you, and just how much I love you."

Akira smiled brightly, "I love you to Blayne and even thought I'm in love with what you've done you really didn't need to. I know that- I had my doubts but over all I know that you love me."

Blayne smiled, but shook his head. "I wanted to do this." Blayne handed Akira a glass of wine, and then poured himself a glass.

Akira stared at the wine for a moment, and took a small sip. She'd heard that women could drink a cup of red wine now and then without hurting the baby. But even so, Akira decided she wouldn't drink much of it.
