"I love you Akira, I wanted to show you and to tell you how much I appreciate you as my mate and as my friend. I know that we may fight." Blayne stopped to take a breath, before continuing. "But I'm sure we will be able to over come that together. You make me strong, and I feel invincible when your near me. It's so crazy because I wouldn't have ever thought having a mate could change someone so much but you did. I love you, I'd die for you, I'd do anything to keep you from being hurt or harmed."

Akira kept her mouth shut, knowing he wasn't done but she wasn't happy that his eyes had taken on a look of guilt and regret towards the end.

"I let you down, I should have known what was going on in my territory. As Alpha and your mate, I should have protected you from them, and know that there was a traitor in the pack but I didn't. I failed you, and I'm so sorry for that."

Akira couldn't listen to him put himself down any longer. "Blayne please don't blame yourself. I know you love me, I know you tried everything you could. It happened, but I'm alive and safe now. You can't beat yourself up over what Darrel did, he was a psychopath. He was unpredictable." Akira leaned closer to him. Hoping to comfort him.

Blayne squeezed Akira's hand gently, trying to accept what she'd told him. "I love you Akira. Your so strong and I'm so happy that your my mate." Blayne lifted Akira's hand and kissed it softly, loving the smoothness of her skin against his lips.

Akira smiled, "thank you Blay. I'm happy your my mate too, I'd never want anyone else." Akira felt her nerves bubble. "Now, you've made all these beautiful plans for me, well. I have something to tell you." Akira swallowed the nerves and breathed deeply. "I- when Edna came to examine me, she told me some very surprising news."

Akira knew she was delaying but she was scared of his reaction, they'd never spoke of children and it had happened so quickly. "Y-your going to be a dad!" Akira rushed out.

Blayne simply stared, unsure if he'd heard her right. He was going to be a dad? He took a few moment's for that to set in as he watched Akira's face express nervousness. Suddenly it clicked, what she'd told him, what it meant. Blayne's face broke out into a huge grin. "I'm going to be a father? Are you serious?" He stood up, and grabbed Akira in his arms, hugging her tightly yet gently. He suddenly held her away from him as he remembered what she'd been through. "Are you okay? Is the baby okay? We should go to Edna and have you and the baby checked again!"

Akira was relieved and somewhat amused by Blayne's reactions. She was getting dragged by Blayne but stopped and tugged him to a stop. "Blayne, Blayne calme down! I'm fine, the baby's fine. We're fine. Edna said we're in perfect health."

Blayne suddenly dropped to his knee's in front of Akira, his face perfect level with her still flat stomach. Blayne leaned forward and nuzzled his face into her stomach, he smiled when he heard Akira giggle. "My baby- our baby." Blayne corrected instantly.

"He or she is in there, the next Alpha of our pack." Blayne kissed Akira's stomach, then stood and claimed Akira's lips in a passionate kiss. Akira was ready for the kiss and welcome him willingly. "I love you Akira! Thank you for my family."

Akira's eyes swelled with tears as she seen the tears in her mates eyes. She shook her head, and smiled up at him. "I love you Blayne."
