A month has passed and Akira had done her best to avoid Blayne. Knowing he was her mate and knowing that he hadn't claimed her the moment he found out let alone the fact that he knew and mated with who knows how many women. Akira didn't know if she would ever be past that simple fact. While she had kept herself pure for her mate, her mate hadn't thought that it would have been nice to return that gift to her. It broke her heart thinking of the women who had enjoyed her mates body, his kisses and lastly had he given any of them his love? That hurt Akira the worst. And the one person she could turn to for comfort wasn't with her.
Her father. She missed him so much. She wanted him with her, but knew he'd never return. She'd never even had the chance over the last month to mourn him. Akira had refused to, afraid that if she did it meant she would forget him. Silly thought, but it was still there in her mind. The thoughts of Blayne, the mate she'd always wanted and how he'd known for six long years. Her father's death, her missing him it was too much. Akira got out of bed, and left the pack house as quickly as she could. She felt like she was suffocating inside that room of hers.
Akira's mind was in utter chaos, and among that chaos was the reminder of what he father had told her while he had taught her about mates. Though a female wolf will go through her transition on her own at twenty-one, if she find's her mate she will go through it much earlier. It depends with each female and also rank has its role. That's what worried Akira most. Both herself and Blayne are Alpha's so that meant her transition would come quicker, practically any day. But now it wasn't the coming pain that worried her, it was the fact that she hadn't accepted said mate. She didn't know what to do.
She walked around the gardens that Edna had showed her too and sat down on the concrete bench with a huff. Akira just needed to clear her mind, so she closed her eyes and breathed in the fresh air, mixed with the flowery scents around her. She was so preoccupied with clearing her mind that she'd almost missed the sound of a twig snapping beside her. When she opened her eyes she instantly glared.
Blayne stood there looking down, hoping that she'd calmed down after almost two or was it three weeks of avoiding him? But it seemed by her glare that he was still in deep shit. "Can I take a seat?"
Blayne had tried to be patient, to give her time to come to terms with him being her mate but he couldn't wait any longer. He needed her and he knew that she needed him just as much. When Akira simply glared at him, he decided to take a chance and sat down next to her on the bench. "Akira please talk to me. I-just let me explain please."
Akira thought quickly about her options, she really couldn't keep putting him off. He wouldn't let her leave, and it wasn't only because of Darrel still being on the loose, or that females were still being taken from the surrounding packs.
It was quite simple, she was his mate and even Akira knew that a male wouldn't let his mate leave especially not an Alpha's mate. She now had a responsibility to the Night pack. She was their Luna now. Akira also had to admit that she was having a very strong physical attraction to Blayne, she was even now having a hard time resisting the urge to jump him.
"Fine. Explain to me why you felt the need to keep that you was my mate for eight years, or how about you explain why you felt the need to sleep with other women while you knew I was your mate?" Akira didn't hold anything back, in her rant she had stood up and was now staring down at Blayne, fuming.
Blayne sighed, "Akira its complicated. Your father-." Akira instantly cut him off, growling. "My father? What could he possibly have to do with this? If you haven't noticed he's not here!" Akira's voice broke slightly at the end, her mind and body worn down from not mourning but for now she cleared her throat and pushed the feelings away.
Blayne stood, and Akira stepped back not wanting to get lost in the bond if he touched her. "When I found you, you had just turned sixteen. I had approached your father's gates and since he and I are-were friends he let me in with no fuss." Blayne paused to give Akira time to take in the information he'd given her.
"But, when I explained that you were my mate he begged me for more time. He, you'd just lost your mother. You were all he had left and he wanted more time with you as his daughter, more time to train you in being Alpha. To give you the time that you needed to mourn your mother's death. So I granted it, I knew what it was like to lose my family I didn't want you to feel pressured. You'd asked before why I hadn't told you the moment I seen you. I didn't tell you because I didn't think you were ready for a mate. You just lost your father, you've yet to mourn him. There's an Alpha out there who has you on his list." Blayne didn't know what more he could possibly say.
Akira's eyes looked any where and every where as she took in all the information Blayne had thrown at her. Her own father had known she'd had a mate? Why wouldn't he had told her? Akira's mind yet again had unanswered questions. Worse, she'd never get those answer's. Akira almost laughed at the irony, she should have known. Her father had always shut her concerns down when it came to not finding her mate. Always told her that in time she'd find him, when it was right. "So." Akira began slowly. "My father knew, you knew but little ol' me didn't know anything." Akira laughed bitterly. "I'm always treated like such a child."
Blaine's heart almost broke when he seen her first tear fall. He'd do anything to make this easier for her but all he could do was be here for her. "I'm sorry Akira. I never meant to hurt you, and you know your father didn't either. " He'd give anything to hold her.
Akira looked up into his blue eyes, she seen comfort, love, guilt. And her chest ached all the more because of it. "I know. I know.." Akira repeated, trying to calm herself but it seemed the more she tried to calm herself the more she broke. "I can't do this without him Blayne." Akira whispered brokenly. "I just can't. I miss him so much, it hurts so much." Akira sobbed openly, she couldn't hide it even if she wanted to.
Blayne could no longer hold himself back, he pulled Akira into his arms, and held her tightly as she sobbed. He pushed his beast down as it pushed for control. He wouldn't lose himself, not right now.
