Blayne closed his eyes taking a deep breath before opening them again and nodding. "Alright." Blayne couldn't hold himself back, he just couldn't he needed to kiss her. Blayne leaned in, prepared to kiss his mate but at the last second Akira turned away from him. Blayne sat back confused and hurt by the action.

Akira wouldn't look at him, she couldn't. The moment she did she knew she'd burst into tears. She'd wanted to kiss him, but as soon as he got close she seen the image of Vivian and him kissing and she just- couldn't. "Why?" Blayne asked, his voice full of pain.

Akira mentally flinched and knew that she had to tell him. She wouldn't allow him to act as if she didn't exist as he had before. She'd forgiven him for that, because she was sure that her father knew about him, but this.. She just couldn't yet.. She had to tell him how she really felt if they were going to move past it. "You." Akira cleared her throat, "you kissed her." Akira murmured. No matter how much she'd tried she couldn't keep all the pain and hurt she'd felt out of her voice.

Blayne first was confused and then he remembered what had started all of this. Gently he grabbed Akira's chin making her look at him. "Akira. I didn't kiss her, she kissed me. I would never hurt you like that. I swear I was about to push her away when you walked in." Blayne begged, not caring. He had to get his mate to see he'd never cheat on her. "I swear baby I didn't kiss her. You're the only one that I want, the one that was made for me. Your my sun, my stars and my moon. Your everything to me and I would do anything and everything for you." Blayne said sincerely and lovingly.

Akira slowly looked up at Blayne, unable to stop the tears in her eyes at his speech. Akira searched his eyes, but only found sincerity. The fact remained that another female had touched his lips. Again, she refused to think about whoever had come before her, but this time she was with him and regardless if it was intended or not, she wouldn't kiss him. Not yet, not while the image was still so alive. "I'm sorry, but even still I can't.. Not yet..." She bowed her head, not wanting to see the pain or hurt that came with her rejection, because then it would make her feel bad.

Blayne sighed, holding back the pain he felt at the rejection. He could understand what she was saying and knew that she needed time. "don't apologize. It was my fault. I love you baby."

Akira wrapped her arms around Blayne tightly, her once silent crying turning into a full blown sob. She had been in so much pain over this, and not even what Darrel did to her was worse than what she felt when she thought that Blayne had cheated.

Blayne held Akira until she calmed down, then pulled back enough to rest his forehead against hers. "Akira- what did he do to you?" Blayne was nervous about asking, unsure if he should have even brought it up, but it was nagging at him and he needed to know if he touched her so that he could be careful with his movements.

Akira opened her eyes, and she seen Blayne's eyes filled with pain and uncertainty. "He beat me for disrespecting him." Akira paused to breath, "I couldn't move. He had me chained to the bed. He wanted to mate with me, and I was so afraid that he'd do it." Akira was suddenly filled with rage again at the thought of her helplessness. "He didn't care that I had a mate, and I just felt my whole body fill with fury over everything he'd done. I didn't know that I would shift, and that made me afraid because I didn't know what was happening." Akira leaned away from Blayne thinking about what had happened when she shifted. "He was nervous though he tried to hide it when I shifted. I was so mad, and well- I attacked him. He managed to throw me off long enough so that he could shift, we fought and in the end I found enough strength to rip his- I ripped his throat out!" Akira felt the tears sliding down her cheeks but didn't bother to wipe them away.

"At the time I didn't care, I still don't feel bad." She looked at Blayne, her eyes widening. "Does that make me bad? That I don't feel bad for killing him?" Akira worried that the lack of remorse or guilt made her a bad person.

Blayne shook his head slowly, taking a calming breath. "No, it doesn't. You had to protect yourself and you did what you had to do." Blayne could see the confliction on his mates face and gently grabbed her chin so that she was looking at him.

"Baby, believe me if you hadn't done it, I would have. I'm sorry that you had to be the one to do it, I wish I could have saved you from the ordeal, but I've never been more proud. You just shifted for the first time, and you fought an Alpha and survived. I know you have Alpha blood in you, but even still it take's training to build up the skills."

Akira listened to what Blayne said and nodded slowly. Akira wiped her tears away feeling slightly better. She'd never cried as much before and she couldn't help, but want to blame her new heightened hormones. Akira noticed Blayne's eye suddenly get that all to familiar distant look, he was talking or receiving a message from another pack member through the link. So, Akira waited patiently for him to get done.

Alpha? Thomas said through the link.

Yes?

I have the traitor. We're in your office, whenever your ready.

I'll be right there. Blayne sighed, and looked at his mate. "I have something to take care of. Will you be okay until I come back?" He didn't want to leave his mate, but this was something that he really needed to take care of.

Akira smiled gently and admitted. "I will be fine. I'm actually tired, so I'll rest for a while."

Blayne stood up, and kissed Akira's forehead. "I'll be back as soon as I can." Akira nodded, and Blayne left the room. Once he had shut the door behind him, he began to walk faster. The faster he could get this taken care of the quicker he'd get back to his mate. Taking the stairs two at a time, he made it down in record time.

Blayne walked to his office, opened the door and suppressed a grin. Thomas was holding Vivian with her arms behind her back, and it was safe to say Vivian wasn't having a good time. Her eyes shot to Blaynes the moment he'd walked into the room, and she glared. Blayne ignored her glare and walked calmly to his desk, leaning against it while he looked at Vivian.
