Previously in chapter 6:
"You've sobered up a little." I stated.

"Yeah... sorry about earlier." He chuckled. "I wasn't thinking straight."

"Clearly." I mumbled, looking out the window again.

"So what's new with you, besides your hair? Any more tattoos, hidden identities?"

"I got two more tattoos after we broke up and... " I frowned. "Wait a minute. Two weeks ago you were mad at me for trying to catch up, and now you suddenly ask what's new?"

He shrugged. "I guess I want you back in my life."

Niall's point of view

"Tell me about Ireland."

"I went in August 2016, just like I said I would. Moved in with my dad and started working at his company. But... I went crazy after a while. I started drinking on a daily basis and eventually dad couldn't handle it anymore. So he threw me out and my only option was to move back to England. Mom couldn't handle me either, so that's why I ended up in London with my uncle."

"What do you mean crazy?" She asked, leaning her head against the wall and took a sip on her drink.

I took a deep breath.

Should I tell her the truth or not?

I don't want to start lying to her again

"Honestly? The thought of you made me lose it. I went crazy just thinking about never seeing you again. So, as usual, alcohol was my escape but it was also a big mistake. Once a screw up always a screw up, right?"

She gave me a sad smile.

Never in a million years I expected this to happen. When Olivia and I broke up I was a total mess and I was so sure we'd never see each other again. When I dropped her off at the airport that day in June my heart broke. Knowing she'd be in London, meeting new people and starting a new life were killing me.

I still remember graduation. When our principal asked me to say something on stage. Without thinking twice about it, I mentioned Olivia because everyone knows she was the reason I managed to graduate and not fail every class. And I remember her last words to me that day.

"Come visit some time, okay? Don't forget about any of us."

Like I could ever forget her.

I remember watching her walk away outside the airport, when those stupid policemen gave me a ticket for speed driving. After they left, I stayed in my car, waiting for her plane to leave. I sat there for about fifteen minutes before she texted me, saying she'd never forget about the boy who saved her life. And I knew I had to tell her one last time that I loved her, so that's what I did.

"I must say... the first couple of months without you was horrible. I felt like shit every minute of every day. Missing you was tearing me apart." She eventually said.

I just looked at her, waiting for her to continue.

"And the thing is," She lightly laughed. "I was the one who ended it. You tried to save it and you wanted to fix it, but, selfish as I was, I wouldn't let you. Now here we are, two years later and we've both moved on."
