His grin grew.

"Crawford, wipe away that smirk from your lips or I have to do something about it."

"Oh, I'm so scared! Is that really the best threat you could come up with, Horan?"

"When did you become so cheeky and sarcastic?" He asked.

Niall and I spent the morning at his mom's place. Jayden was now too old to believe in Santa, so Brian didn't have to dress up this year. But he still manage to persuade Niall into watching The Grinch with him, and Niall sat next to Jayden in the couch, his arm resting on the headrest behind his stepbrother.

"I can't remember the last time Niall made time for Jayden like that." Maura told me, as I helped her in the kitchen.

"I guess it was during my wedding." She continued. "Thank you, by the way. For coming."

"The pleasure is all mine." I smiled at her. "I'm happy Niall brought me."

"I remember telling Niall at his graduation, that if you two ever met again, he shouldn't let you go. So when he showed up at the wedding with you... it made me so happy."

I smiled and looked over to the couch.

"He's a better person with you around."

"Funny, because my mom says the exact same thing about me." I chuckled.

Maura smiled.

"When I married Brian, I got another son at the same time. What I didn't know that day was that I'd get a daughter out of it as well."

"Does Brian have a da-oh, you mean me?"

She laughed and placed her hand on my shoulder.

"Welcome back, Olivia."

We spend the evening at my place. Mom had asked Gabriel to dress up as Santa for my younger cousins, and it was actually nice seeing Gabriel again after all these years. Franklin was home from America and at first Niall was nervous of what he might say about Niall being there. But to my surprise he was cool with it.

Lisa had the day off, so mom had to spend most of the night in the kitchen, which wasn't her normal place to be at family get-togethers. So I decided to help her.

"Did you get everything you hoped for?" Mom asked.

"I hadn't asked for anything specific."

"I know. But you can still want things."

"I've realised over the past few years that I already have everything I could ask for."

"Despite the fact that you were ashamed of this family a few years ago."
