Gif of Zara.
------------
Previously in chapter 10:
"Marcus never complains." I blurt out.
"Say his name one more time and I'm leaving." He warned me and my heart was beating like crazy inside my chest by now. "Because frankly, it's getting kind of annoying that you keep comparing me with him."
"I'm sorry." I mumbled, before looking at him over my shoulder. "But just for the record; I'd choose you over him anytime."
"Okay, it's really time for you to go to sleep. You're talking shit because of the alcohol."
"That's me talking, though. Goodnight."
---------------------------------------------
Someone was poking my arm. I slowly opened my eyes, trying to put the puzzle together before I could see clearly that Zara was sitting crouched down next to my bed.
"What the hell is Niall doing in your bed?" She hissed in a low voice.
I was lying on my back with his arm lazily wrapped over my stomach. I turned my head to him, seeing him sleeping on his side, almost on his stomach. It was nice knowing that he was asleep though, since he normally has trouble falling asleep. His lips were slightly parted and his bedhead was hard to miss. It was adorable.
Zara carefully shook my arm, making me turn back to her.
"I can explain, really." I whispered, gently lifting up Niall's arm so I could roll out of the bed without waking him up.
We exited the room, leaving him behind and Zara stomped down the hallway towards the kitchen.
"I am so disappointed, Olivia. Like really disappointed."
"Nothing happened, I swear. I know it looks bad but you need to trust me. It's Niall for god's sake." I said with a chuckle to ease up the tension.
"That's my point! It's Niall and both of us know that you're already half way there to falling for him again. He's your weakness."
I frowned, making her roll her eyes.
"Don't even try to deny it. I remember the way you acted in senior year when you were seeing him in secret. You were all giddy and... a total different person. And you've been acting that way since New Years to be honest, and now I understand why." She said, crossing her arms.
"Okay, yes, Niall might be my "weakness", but do you seriously think that I would cheat on Marcus? You know me, Zara, and no matter what Niall says or do, I'd still be with Marcus at the end of the day. Nothing's gonna change the fact that I love him endlessly."
"So even if Niall wanted to get back together, you'd stay with Marcus?"
"Yes! Have you forgotten what Niall did? Do you even remember what a mess I was after he told me about that stupid bet? All the breakdowns, the extra meetings with my psychologist and how I practically needed to move to London to get him off my mind? I used to think Niall was the love of my life, but fuck it, I was only eighteen and didn't know better. I was young and stupid. I belong with Marcus, okay? I can't believe you're actually doubting me when it comes to all of this."
She was quiet for a few seconds, before she went over and hugged me. I relaxed into her embraced, exhaling deeply against her shoulder.
"I'm sorry, you're right. I shouldn't doubt you. I just... kind of flipped when I saw him in your bed. I wasn't expecting that."
