Previously in chapter 13:

"Do you think she's happy with that guy?"

"I guess." I shrugged. "Why?"

"I don't. I've only met him once, on New Years, but he's so... formal and stiff, you know?"

"Maybe she likes stiff people."

He gave me a sceptical look.

"She used to like you, and you're not stiff at all."

"What's your point?" I sighed.

"My point is that I don't think she'll ever be truly happy again if she's not with you."

March 6, 2019

I was waiting outside the lecture hall on a Wednesday afternoon. Chloe was about to come out any second from her music history class and we were planning on going shopping. Apparently she wanted some advice on what to give me for my birthday.

Two girls came out first from the lecture hall. I recognised one of them and couldn't help but overhear their conversation. The blonde girl was talking about a guy she's been seeing lately and according to herself; he was a real catch. Amazing in bed, funny, somewhat a bad boy but at the same time a real sweetheart. It wasn't until she mentioned the dirty-blonde hair and Irish accent I understood she was talking about Niall.

It was Savannah Jones, his co-worker at Starbucks and one of Chloe's classmates.

Then she looked at me, and a huge smile spread across her face.

"Hey, I know you from somewhere!"

"Chloe Miller's best friend?" I asked, awkwardly laughing.

"No, you're a regular at Starbucks! I've seen you there several times!"

"You caught me." I smiled.

She seems nice

Niall deserves someone nice

"What's your name?" She asked, walking towards me.

"Olivia."

"Well, nice to meet you Olivia. I'm Savannah Jones."

We shook hands and that's when Chloe came out.

"I'm about to head down to work right now actually. Why don't you come with and I can give you a little discount?"

"Um, we were–"

"I could have some coffee." Chloe cut in, smiling at Savannah.

"Great!"

And that's how I found myself walking down to Starbucks with Niall's newest hook up. She was talking nonstop from when we left campus to when we stepped through the door into Starbucks. Then she went in the back to put on her apron and we got in line to order. Niall didn't seem to be working, but I didn't mind. We've been texting a little the last couple of weeks, just to catch up. I've been busy with assignments lately, so I haven't really had the time to see someone except Zara, you know, since we live together. Marcus usually comes over and helps me, but tries not to distract me too much.
