Sorry for the wait! I've been busy and writers block again, so... and if you haven't already, check out my two other stories "Crush Him" and "Goodbye For Now". The first one is completed and the other one is finished, but I haven't published all the chapters yet! They're coming! x

Previously in chapter 26:

Back in high school he would always do this, so why am I so surprised? He was known for being with different girls all the time. I remember his on and off thing with Mackenzie Williams, and his little "game" with five girls on stage on his birthday party. He loved to watch the cheerleaders during football practice and would often flirt with every girl he walked past in the hallways.

That's how I remember him from school, before he and I started dating. He was like that before me, and what if he's still that jerk after me? Maybe I was just a thing in between.

I closed Instagram and opened up our conversation. The last message I received from him was: "You know where to find me when you wanna talk" but I wasn't so sure anymore.

I began typing.

"I love you enough to let you go"

But before I pressed send, I thought about it for a second before deleting it again. He doesn't care if I love him or not.

----------------------------------

A few days later Zara dragged me out from the flat to go clubbing. I wasn't really in the mood, and she could tell. And according to her, it was an even bigger reason to do so.

"Who's coming tonight?" I asked her as we left the apartment together.

"Marcus and Alex, and I think Alex mentioned they might bring some friends from uni. Then Chloe and Vicky of course. Oh, and Jake and Savannah." Zara said.

"Niall?"

She shrugged, giving me a look.

"I don't know actually. Jake didn't say."

I slowly nodded and felt, once again, guilty.

Marcus still doesn't know, but I have to tell him soon. I know he'll be devastated but I can't go around like this anymore. Not with this secret. I learned that the hard way three years ago. Hiding stuff from the ones you love always hurts more people than you thought it would. I nearly lost all of my friends back then because of the whole Olivia Coleman shit.

We met up with the others outside tonight's location. And Niall was indeed joining us. He was standing a bit further down the street, smoking and talking to Savannah.

So are they an official thing yet?

He didn't even notice we arrived, and when I saw Savannah cuddling up to his side, I decided to look away. It shouldn't bother me, but it bothers the hell out of me.

"Hi." I smiled to everyone, and Marcus gave me a kiss on the cheek as I stopped next to him.

Alex took the lead towards the queue and the rest followed. I could see how Zara and Jake cuddled up with each other and it was really cute. Even though the two of them kind of were a thing the last couple of months in school, they barely showed it this open. I was happy for them.
