Olivia sat in front of the fireplace as she skimmed through photo albums. She stumbled across the image on accident but she remembered the woman in the picture. It was her real mom. Maya stared at Olivia as she looked up at her with her big emerald eyes. "Do you think she sees me from up there?" Olivia asked Maya. Maya nodded as she sat down beside Olivia. "I am sure she keeps you safe and protects you from all the bad things," Maya added. Although she didn't have the best relationship with Clarissa, the way it all ended was tragic and heartbreaking. Maya couldn't imagine having to let her kids grow up without her or Lucas. The little girl nodded contently and resumed with looking through the album.
"Mhm, smells amazing!" Maya said as she walked inside the kitchen where Lucas and Connor were cooking, while Olivia sets the table. Haley and Hazel sat in their high chairs playing with some of their toys. "I will be stopping by Riley's tonight, do you mind putting the kids to bed?" Maya asked as she grabbed the bowl of salad. Lucas nodded as he wiped the corner of his mouth with his napkin. After dinner Maya and Lucas did the dishes and then Maya left.
Maya returned after a small hour, she found sunflower outside. Usually he was inside, she let him come inside with her and everything was dark. Maya felt a chill run down her back. Something was off. She suddenly heard a muffled voice coming from the baby monitor that was in Lucas' office. As she got closer, she heard it again. Then the noise was loud and clear. "Mommy help!" Connor screamed. Maya's heart froze. She didn't know what to do, the first thing that came to mind was running upstairs. She quietly made her way up the stairs. She passed the twins' nursery and then she saw Lucas tied up in their bedroom. His head hung and he didn't respond.
Maya's heart stopped, this couldn't be happening. Suddenly Connor and Olivia ran towards Maya and then Josh came into sight. "Well look who finally decided to show up," His voice sounded pure evil. The children clung to Maya and hid their faces in the crooks of her shoulder. Josh chuckled darkly and walked over to the mother and her two children. "Come here!" He screamed at Maya. His gun pointed in her direction. "Josh, you d-don't hav-" Maya tried. He hit her and Connor and Olivia started crying even harder. They didn't want to let their mom go.
He paced around the room, pointing his gun at Maya from time to time. Maya saw how scared her children were. She tried to get loose but the knot was to tight. "It's all your fault, baby" He grinned as he caressed Maya's cheek. She turned her head around. "Tsk, tsk Maya. We wouldn't want your husband to die, would we? So I'd better listen," He said evil spread across his face. Maya wanted to scream but she couldn't. Josh forced Olivia and Connor into their rooms and locked them in, after he tied them up too.
He returned for Maya and threw her on the bed. "Let's get this over with, shall we?" Josh said smirking at his ex-girlfriend. He unbuckled his belt and Maya just wished this ended. She laid there feeling used as the tears streamed down her face. "Maya?" Lucas' voice croaked. He heard his wife sob. Josh got angry and fired the gun in Lucas' direction. Maya screamed in defeat "Noo! Lucas!" She used all her strength to get Josh off her. She tried to walk over to Lucas before being hit on the head. She hears Olivia's screams and cries for help but she can't move.
"Goodnight Maya," He whispers and she hears the gun go off a few more times and then she hears more cries, and she wishes she could move. All she can do is hope that he'll leave her children alone. She tries to get up and sees how everything starts going black in front of her eyes. She feels a warm liquid drip on her hands and the last thing she sees is Josh smirking as he fires the gun one more time.
