Riley had rushed to the hospital the second Lucas' mom called her. When she met up with everybody the looks on their faces weren't happy. Riley saw Olivia and Connor sitting on two chairs, reading the book they loved the most. Maya read it to them every night. Everybody in the room was nervous, since they had been there for more than two hours and there still was no news on Maya or the twins.

Another hour or three passed and Riley finally stood up. She walked over to a male nurse passing by. "Hey, can I ask something?" Riley asked politely. The man looked at her and nodded. "My friend, Maya Friar, has been in there for almost five hours and we still haven't gotten any news." Riley explained. "And you want me to go check if there is any news?" The man continued. "That would be nice," Riley tried. He sighed and told Riley to go wait in the waiting room and that he would try his best to get some news on the blonde.

Lucas sat in a chair beside the incubator that held his two babies. They still fit in it and didn't take up all the space. He stroked their heads and watched their chests rise and then fall. He had been here for a while now. They were currently operating Maya, her heart had stopped for the second time. His eyes were red from all the crying he had done that night. He saw how the first signs of the sun shining through the window of the hospital ward he was on. He heard the door open but didn't look up from his daughters.

Riley slowly entered the room, small babies everywhere and Riley felt her heart ache a little. She saw a tall figure sitting by an incubator that held two babies in it. She figured it was Lucas and walked over to where the nurse told her too. Every step she got closer, she could see more. She got the news that Maya was in surgery at the moment and that they had two little girls. "Hi," her voice was soft. Lucas finally looked up and smiled. "Hey Riley," his voice was lost in the pain. "I'd like you to meet Haley Rose and Hazel Riley," He gestured towards the little girls. Riley looked at the girls and saw two blondes like Maya. She sat down on the chair beside Lucas and waited with him for any news of Maya.

There she laid, so peaceful. Lucas held her hand as he heard his parents talk to the doctor. He faintly heard what they were talking about. He only cared about his girls right now. He couldn't help any of them. Maya wouldn't be waking up any time soon, so he decided that he would go say something to Olivia and Connor and maybe take them to their sisters.

Lucas' Pov

I held Olivia's hand in mine and I carried Connor in my free arm. I turned around another corner and stopped in front of a big glass window in the middle of a wall. The nurse in the room waved at the two children, how were anxiously waiting to see the new additions to our family. The two eldest children adjusted themselves to get a better view when two nurses walked up to the window holding two babies. "They're so little," Connor said as he pointed at the twins. "They're so adorable daddy!" Olivia cooed. Lucas smiled at his children and let them watch the little babies a little longer.

"Can we take them home with us?" Olivia asked as she sat beside her brother outside the room where Maya was still asleep. "Liv and Connor, mommy had a lot of pain and that wasn't good for the babies. They were born to early and because of that they have to stay a little longer. So they can grow and be stronger and healthier before they come home with us," I  explained as I knelled down in front of them. "Is mommy going to be okay?" Connor asked as he glanced at the door. I took their hands in mine and reassured them that everything will be okay.
