17 - Truth

Olivia had been recovering for these past few weeks, and had to get a check up before she could finally leave the hospital. Lucas held her little hand as the doctor told him more about his daughters progression. He didn't have any ears for it though, he was just glad she was finally coming home again. It had been five long weeks.

Maya and Lucas were talking, when their attention was drawn to two people standing in the doorway. "Mr. and Mrs. Friar?" Lucas chuckled and Maya showed her engagement ring and the two men nodded their heads. "Detective Spencer and officer Carson. We are here to discuss the whole accident. We want to ask Olivia some questions. Is that okay with you?" the couple nodded their head and let the two officers ask Olivia some questions.

Lucas was furious, disgusted and livid. He had to get a fresh breath of air. His face was red of anger. He had never felt true hatred for someone, except for now. His blood was boiling and he was about to get in his car and drive to the hotel Josh was staying in. But he was stopped by a hand. A girl that he forgot in all this. "I know you want to break his face and hurt him but Lucas that makes you worse than him. Do you want Olivia to grow up and be remembered as the girl who's dad beat a guy so hard, he had to go to jail?" her voice was soft and he wanted to make Josh feel what he felt.

As much as he wanted to stay with Maya he whispered "I am sorry," and got in his car. He drove off and left Maya standing in the driveway. Maya waisted absolutely no time and got in her own car. She followed him and watched him furiously slam the car door shut behind him. She ran up the stairs and noticed the door of the hotel room ajar. She peeped inside and saw Lucas shoving Josh against a wall. 

"You almost killed my daughter, and you killed her mother!" Lucas screamed at him. Maya had never seen him this angry. "Should have kept her safe," Josh said nonchalantly. Maya's eyes went wide, she knew exactly what was going to happen. Lucas raised his fist. It collided with Josh' eye. His laugh was bitter, almost toxic. "Maya was mine and you took her from me, I just needed to take something from the two of you," he said as Lucas punched him once again. 

But suddenly Josh pushed Lucas against the ground and hit him and kicked him. Maya watched as Josh hit Lucas over and over again. Why was he letting this happen? Why did he not stop him? Maya felt a sudden fear and ran inside and pushed Josh off Lucas. She bent down to her fiancée that spit up some blood. "Lucas, oh my god! What did you do?!" She yelled at Josh who tried to run. "This is all your fault Maya," He huffed at the blonde teary eyed woman. She rose to her feet and anger filled her eyes. "You felt the need to cheat, didn't you. When is Lucas getting replaced?" He said as he averted his gaze from the bleeding Lucas to Maya. 

"You shut the hell up! You know I loved you," She said as she walked closer to him. "Oh did you Maya?" He huffed. Maya's fury was fueled by his following comment. "Alex never mattered to me anyway," He laughed bitterly once again before being shoved against the wall by the blonde. "You take that back right now!" She screamed at him. "Can't do that, sugar" His words sounded vulgar and Maya wanted to hit him so bad but she let him go. "I am done with you! Go rot in the depths of hell," Maya screamed at the guy in front of her one more time before turning around and craddling Lucas' head in her arms. She heard Josh run out the room but she kept her eyes focussed on the green eyes that were looking straight in her blue eyes. "I-I am ...so," He coughed up more blood and his eyes were shutting, "so sorry, Maya!" He said before slipping into uncounsiounsness.
