Was he really mad with her? Willow had known their arguments to go the same way, he'd always come up and talk to her a good two hours after she had stormed away. But now, he'd given her plenty of time to change into the pyjamas she had borrowed from him, they were honestly too big; the top looked like a dress and the shorts were knee length, but she could tie the waist so they fit nicely. Christopher still hasn't visited, she even fell asleep.
This time, Willow felt it was different. Everything had changed, and that specific routine might have shifted with it. She slid from her bed, her bare feet touching the antique rug covering the wooden floorboards. A small creak erupted from one that had come loose.
This time, it's going to be her. She is going to apologise to him first. Willow opened the door and looked down the corridor, the doors on the left hand side all seemed to look the same, and she couldn't recall which one belonged to Christopher.
She counted down the doors as she walked along, for some reason, the door she stood in front looked like her best bet. For some reason, she had a feeling it would be his. And of course, if it was just Christopher, he wouldn't mind her just barging in.
She grasped the door handle and prepared herself just to storm in, but willow needed to let go of her anger, and she needed to drop he facade and start acting like an adult and not a child. So instead, she slowly turned the door handle and opened the door, stepping in quickly and quietly.
"Willow?" Elijah peered out from his work and looked towards who had entered his room.
Oh dear Willow had definitely went into the wrong room. She shut her eyes and sighed from embarrassment "oh my ... I- um, I'm sorry, I was looking for Christopher"
"He's out with Rebekah" Elijah informed her "it was supposed to be a perimeter check but I believe they have made a night of it, is there anything I can do for you?"
He wanted her to say yes, right now Elijah could do with some company. Just a chat, something of normality to pull him back into the real world and not the world of books.
"No, it's okay" she shrugged "sorry for disturbing you" willow turned around and went to walk out of the door. Her confidence coming out in bursts "actually..." she said before regretting it.
Elijah had his head back down with paperwork and books and research and everything involved in running a city and preventing your family from imminent death. But he looked up at her once more.
"Forgive me, but I know we're all going to be spending a lot more time together and maybe I just need to take the leap and be open minded, are you really busy?" She spoke quickly out of fear he'd refuse. But Elijah responded quietly, by pulling up a chair beside him and motioning for her to sit down.
He set the pen down on the paper, mid-sentence and turned to her as she sat down. "What's on your mind?" He asked, imagining her mind to be a colourful and positive place.
"I'm scared" she said simply "I've been meaning to ask Christopher this, but I guess you're just as good. When I ran off today, if someone would have grabbed me, I wouldn't have been able to fight back. I'm weak, I can't break free of someone's grasp"
"Being scared is perfectly normal, eventually you feel fear so much you get used to it" Elijah rarely felt fear anymore, only if there was a substantial threat to his family. "There is truly no need for you to defend yourself, you'll always have someone there for you"
"And if they are taken down? Its like shooting fish in a barrel, taking me without a fight" Willow spoke back.
Elijah sighed "if you truly want to learn, I can show you tomorrow, there is a church we have that Marcel has turned into a gym, I'll clear it and I can teach you. If that is okay?"
It was a great way to get to know each other, beating the hell out of them. Willow smiled and nodded her head, shuffling on the chair, trying to get comfortable, but it was old and it was wooden, it was uneven and it creaked with every movement.
Willow clocked a small sofa in the corner of the room beside a flickering fire. So instead of staying down, she went over and sat on the sofa , lifting her legs up. She pointed to the chair next to her. She didn't know what they were going to talk about next, she was appreciative of the company.
Elijah stood from his desk, and he simply walked over to sit down on the chair beside her. To say earlier she started arguments over being uncomfortable around his family, she surely seemed like she adjusted quickly.
"So, Elijah Mikaelson" she seemed a lot happier than she was earlier "I have no idea who you are. Do you think In the next..." she glanced at the clock "thirty minutes, you could tell me? As I haven't had much sleep and I can probably stay awake for that amount of time"
"What do you want to know?" He raised an eyebrow "If you want to know everything, we might be here for some time"
"I don't know" she shuffled again "I've always wanted to know how you became a vampire, it's not like someone could have fed you their blood and killed you. You were the first"
"It was a very very long time ago" Elijah reminisced "our mother, Esther, she was a very powerful witch, after the untimely death of our younger brother Henrik, she decided to take an unusual course of action to protect the rest of her children"
She was listening intently to the story just as a wave of tiredness consumed her body, but Elijah was too into his story, she daren't stop him. Instead she let out a small yawn and promised herself that her eyes would only shut for a few minutes, just to refresh herself. She wouldn't go to sleep.
But the sofa seemed too comfy, and the soothing voice of the originals didn't fair too well. After a few moments of her closing eyes, Willow fell asleep.
"The whole town run us out, we ran out of fear that our father would catch us..." Elijah looked down at her, only just realising that the girl had fallen asleep. Was he that boring?
Willow had looked tired, she had bags underneath her eyes, so Elijah didn't move her. Instead, he pulled the blanket that draped over the back of the sofa, over her and sat back at his desk, keeping a watchful eye on her as well as finish his work.
