Willow woke up from her long sleep, she was surprised she didn't wake earlier. Her eyes flickered open and she shuffled around in the covers until she faced the other way.

"Did you stay there all night?" She asked Elijah, who was sat comfortably on the other side of the bed. Strangely, he was wearing a new suit, and his hair was pristine once more.

"Yes" he looked down and smiled to himself "though the past few hours I've spent awake and doing other things, I thought I'd check on you, and..."

Willow raised her eyebrows as she waited for Elijah to continue his sentence.

"And you looked so peaceful, I just wanted to watch you" he said, Elijah's fingers playing with hers as he spoke.

The room was lit with an orange glow caused by the sun trying to shine through the brown, patterned curtains. It looked relaxing.

Willow still felt like her heart had been ran over by a truck, but somehow, today she could just about bare it. Today she might even make it through without crying.

She smiled at Elijah as he lifted her hand to kiss it. Willow sat up in bed and pulled her hand away from him, Elijah then proceeded to tuck a piece of hair behind her ear and kiss her.

And now she was full on grinning. And there were no regrets, none of the awful thoughts that had eaten away at her previously ever came back to finish what they started. It was like for the first time since being here, she was truly happy.

"I want to show you something" Elijah whispered to her, not wanting to ruin the atmosphere.

"What?" She replied in the same hushed tone.

"I just need you to get dressed and come with me" Elijah said vaguely "I have a feeling you'll like what's been done"

Willow slid out of her position in bed and took of her shirt and replaced it with another, Elijah looked away as she threw her shirt by his feet. Willow shrugged, silently laughing at how gentlemanly this man was, but she was comfortable, and it would be something he'd probably see more of in the near future.

And then she put on some jeans and tied her hair back quickly. "Is it far?" She asked after she'd gotten ready in record time "do I need a coat?"

Elijah shook his head, it wasn't far whatsoever, just a few minute walk into the quarter and they'd arrive at whatever he wanted to show her. "No, just a jacket will be fine"

Willow draped a small jacket over her shoulders and snaked her arms through, she lifted her bag and rested the strap on her shoulder before looking to Elijah. "Come on then" she motioned forward, her eyebrows raised as she saw his surprised reaction of her changing so quickly. "I'm curious"

Elijah held his hand out, looking down to hers and then back up to him. He raised his eyebrows, urging for her to take his.

"A-are you sure?" She asked.

"Of course, why?" He asked

"I didn't know if you didn't want anyone to know" Willow sighed, worried in case she thought they were more than what he did "or if you changed your mind"

Elijah sighed, shaking his head at her remarks, finding slightly amusing "you haven't changed your mind, have you?" He raised an eyebrow.

Willow smirked "of course not" moving her hand in closer and brushing her fingers against his "I just didn't want to make you look like, well- not the big bad vampire you are. Love makes you vulnerable, you said that"

"I do understand some aspects of love can make you particularly weak" Elijah agreed, not wanting to argue against something he knew was true "however, I neglected to say that the majority of aspects can make a man the strongest person alive"

Her hand still touched his, but Elijah was the one to move closer and take her hand, holding it tightly with no intention of letting go "this is the type of love that would make you strong"

Willow tensed her muscles and closed her fingers on Elijah's. "What do you think they'll say?"

"They'd be happy for me, for us" Elijah knew his family would be supportive, if a little sceptical, they'd be worried that he's jumped into something that he wouldn't know how it will end. They would only worry for his welfare; as well as Willow's. "A small flicker, a light in the darkest of times"

"Love conquers all" Willow added into his sentence "maybe that's why Tristan is so cold, nobody loves him"

Elijah laughed "Tristan's evil goes far beyond love, he's a sick little man who only seeks joy in other people's pain and torment"

"The mention of his name just gives me the creeps, I bet he's probably laughing about taking Christopher's life" she clenched her other fist.

"Don't talk about that, please, you'll upset yourself" Elijah worried "now, follow me"
