"It was nice for Christopher to put my things away whilst you patch me up" Willow left the door open as she bounded through to her room, so Elijah could follow her. "Only the downside being I have no idea where I can find anything"
She opened each and every drawer to find her pyjamas, searching through her wardrobe and everything. But she still couldn't find them.
Elijah stepped towards the end of the four poster bed, his fingers grasping the black pile of what he would have thought to be the things she was looking for. He cleared his throats loudly.
Willow jumped up, a little too quick and the blood rushed to her head and made her lose her balance. It was only a small stumble, her hand went to grasp the wardrobe beside her, but instead she grasped Elijah's shoulder. He had sped instantly to her side "You skimmed a main artery, and have lost a lot of blood" he told her, a lecturing tone in his voice "please, if you need something, tell me"
"Sure" she said, taking the pyjamas handed to her and walked to the bathroom attached to her room to change in privacy.
Elijah perched on the bed, waiting for her, listening in for any abnormalities just to make sure she was okay.
She came out a few minutes later in her new/old pyjamas and immediately buried herself under the covers in bed.
"Ghees it's really cold today" she replied, trying to spark a somewhat normal conversation "I'm surprised it's not snowing"
"Well it is December, it's bound to be cold" Elijah amused her by carrying on. It really didn't seem like December, for some reason Willow had blocked out every single Christmas song and every single decoration hung. And Christmas used to be her favourite time of the year.
"Do you celebrate Christmas?" She asked, her head on the pillow, her eyes looking at him sweetly. She had to know if he did, if the family did, she really couldn't be there if they Didn't.
Elijah smiled "of course" he said "we even have a big tree"
"Do you think I'll still be here to spend it with you all?" She asked, just wanting some re assurance on the whole matter.
"I gave you my word I'd protect you, I'm sure you'd still be here" Elijah nudged her as he saw her slowly close her eyes.
"If you're going to watch me sleep then I suggest you just get under the covers so I don't feel so uncomfortable" she said with her eyes closed, Willow felt his eyes burn into her head.
"If you'd prefer to be alone-" Elijah made to leave
"No" willow said faster than she could, sitting up to grab his arm. "Stay, just for a bit longer"
Willow pulled the cover from the corner of the other side of the bed "but take your shoes off"
He couldn't turn that down, Elijah took his shoes off and slid in beside her. He felt risky but still reached his arm around her as she snuggled beside him, now using his chest as her pillow.
"I really do love Christmas" she said randomly "I'm glad I get to spend it with everyone, it might not be what I expected and it might not be the same as what I'm used to, but I'm open minded"
Just talking about things that made her happy was just a mechanism for trying to forget all of the darkness around her. Elijah knew this, he practically befriended all of the main psychological theorists.
"What sort of Christmas are you used to?" He asked her, just to keep them on the same track and to keep her happy.
"Warm fires, fairy lights, that annoying little tune that plays on those annoying little decorations" she listed, her voice becoming dreary and her words separating from each other. "Milk and cookies" she said before she had drifted off into a very long and very deep sleep.
He stayed there for a while, he seemed so scared to move just in case she awoke, Elijah never knew the next time she'd have a full night's sleep since the issue now risen. The bounty Tristan had put out, the awards was enough to turn anyone on to his side.
Christopher had the idea yesterday that he'll take her to meet the wolves. Sometimes Willow had a way with words, she can talk to them and show them that she is still a human being. She can act as propaganda, she can make them feel sorry for her.
Elijah opted no, it was too dangerous, but as Christopher said, it was on his watch and he will be meeting Hayley whilst they're down there. Willow would have protection against anyone who dared to get her. Willow didn't know just yet, Christopher would spring it onto her tomorrow.
He didn't have a great feeling about it, but right now with the girl sleeping peacefully on his chest, he really couldn't think of a bad thing. She looked so peaceful, so innocent. He took a breath in, taking in her scent and her aura, finally admitting to himself...
This girl was absolutely stunning, her soul was beautiful, her personality immaculate. He was indeed falling for this girl.
Rebekah and Christopher was correct. But was it really a good thing to happen? Or should he step back?
