Prior to Willow's escape.
Elijah was writhing in pain on the floor, completely in the dark, not knowing what he was about to endure. The physical, emotional torture, would they really hurt him? Or would they hurt Willow to get to him?
Maybe they're going to hurt him to get to Willow.
"Why?" Elijah was thrusted upright, his arms now being pinned behind his back by two burly looking vampires, Elijah looked to each side of him. He recognised both of them from 1,000 years ago. This couldn't be happening. "What?"
"Congratulations, you're the first out of your siblings to test out our new party trick" Tristan began "I've had witches working tirelessly to find a way to break the sire link so I can finally have the pleasure of murdering you"
It was a clear path to Elijah's chest, but what could Tristan do? Unless he had the white oak stake, he was completely powerless.
"What?" Elijah asked, he was certain Tristan just said they had the means to break the sire link, it couldn't be possible. "You're insane"
"No, Elijah, you shouldn't be trying to insult me. You should be thanking me" Tristan shrugged "if given the ultimatum between yourself and your paramour, who would you choose? Obviously the noble Elijah should choose the woman he loves"
"I don't understand"
"You want her free from that curse, don't you Elijah? I want my vampires safe in this city, so why don't we compromise and just kill you. Break the sire bond, you die, everybody else wins. Willow is free" Tristan explained "we can't just stand around and wait anymore, you aren't doing anything of progress. And, by doing it this way, I get my revenge" he shrugged.
"You break the sire link, that's fine. How are you planning on killing me? And what is your plan afterwards, my family will ascend upon you" Elijah hissed, baring his Fangs and constantly trying to get out of the grasps of the vampires holding him back.
Tristan walked over to the shelf in the corner of the room "we can start the spell now, as I speak, he might not be able to take it all in, but we'll save a lot of time" Tristan spoke to the witches.
They sat down, cross legged on the floor, just in front of Elijah. They drew a small symbol between them and began to chant. The symbol flared with fire, growing as they carried on.
"When I made our deal, I gave you most of Willow's blood I collected over the three months. Most of it, I have a few jars with your name labelled on it" He lifted a jar of the shelf "I intend to mix it with wolf venom and drag out your death as long as possible so your family could see you suffer"
"As for your family, they'll be too busy with the witches and grieving your death, I'll exploit their weakness and murder those as well. Leaving Willow completely alone and free to serve me"
"Willow is stronger than you imagine, she will never ever abide by you. As for my family, in their weakness, if my death comes, they will be strong together. Stronger than you will ever be" Elijah replied, now fearing for Willow's welfare. He couldn't die, he couldn't, who would look after Willow? She had already lost so much.
"I guess you wouldn't be there to see" Tristan said as Elijah was hit with a force, strong enough he could feel each and every vampire leaving his sire line, leaving him feeling somewhat empty, somewhat lighter and somewhat weaker.
He was out of breath, though he hadn't moved, this was a big thing. Every sire had left him and now Tristan was free to kill him.
And Elijah only had this one regret. He didn't say goodbye to Willow.
"Any last requests?" Tristan had mixed the liquids together himself and had transferred it into a large injection.
"Willow" Elijah breathed "I just need to see Willow" it was her that ran through his mind, even when he thought he'd be taking his last breath. With every blink, every movement, he thought of Willow. He just wanted her.
"Easily done" Tristan smirked "my plan was to inject you with this and then release you to your family, showing them a taste of what is to come"
"Your love for that one girl is strong" Tristan waltzed closer as one of the vampires holding Elijah managed to pull his head to the side, leaving his neck bare. "However with a strong love, comes weakness. You had the chance to leave her, or kill her, before any of this happened and you did not, because of some silly crush. You are over a thousand years old, Elijah, you should have acted a bit smarter"
Elijah felt Tristan's cold hands touch his skin and shortly after, after Elijah had stopped wriggling, stopped trying to escape their grasps, he felt a small pin prick and he finally knew, this was the end.
It didn't seem to bad to begin with, there was a split second Elijah thought he could fight it off. But, obviously he was wrong, two powerful and lethal liquids mixed into one poison, he wasn't getting out of this.
The burning sensation lingered just in the area of the pin prick to begin with, it was bearable for a bit, but it intensified severely. And it spread.
It spread until Elijah was writhing on the floor in agony, yelping, screaming for it to stop. The Strix had let their grip go and followed Tristan out of the basement, and out of danger if Elijah were to have a burst of energy.
But he didn't, Elijah grasped onto the wall and pulled himself up, shutting his eyes and calling for Willow, trying to alert her to be careful.
He stumbled up the stairs, the sun shone through the window and almost blinded him, his skin kept burning and even breathing hurt him.
He walked out and tried to make his way to the compound as fast as he could. He needed to get to Willow.
Live in the dark - Jeff Beck
I used to hate Tristan so much but now I just hate writing him as the bad guy! I met Oliver Ackland over the weekend and he is literally the sweetest guy I have ever met in my entire life! It's just made me fall in love with Tristan!
I also got to meet Matt Davis, Nate Buzz, Sebastian Roche and more however Oli is my favourite!
Check out his twitter! That group photo of him in Blackpool, I'm in it!!
