Elijah didn't look at Willow. He spoke to her, his voice directing towards her, but his eyes never followed. Was he mad at her?
It had been three days, and though what had happened was still recent events, Willow was asking herself why he didn't look at her, why he was acting differently around her.
You would have thought he'd be up for just being friends, seeing as they had to spend a lot of time together. And now, I mean, every moment. There was a small episode in the compound the other day which ended in a few of Tristan's Strix members having their hearts ripped from their chests and Rebekah pinned against the wall.
And that wasn't the most severe case so far. There had been a growing amount, she wasn't sure if it linked to the amount of stress she had been put under, or if this spell was growing on her. She had done everything by the book, she hadn't died so why was it getting stronger?
Willow recalled reading something about it growing on someone, she had to go back to that page. She found it strange though, she swore it said that the spell could take over a body in the matter of a day, that was why she discarded it.
But for now, she was sat in the car with her head still and her eyes forward. How did she let it get this way between them?
Elijah was subject to the more mild tasks now, seeing that he had a plus one. What they were doing now? They were just checking out an abandoned building on the outskirts of town, it was hidden away in the trees, so nobody really knew it was there. It was said to house witches in the early 1900's and haven't been touched ever since, meaning, neither had the herbs the hoarded. Freya had sent them, she was looking for extra supplies, seeing as now the witches had bled the city dry.
"I'm surprised you even agreed" Willow tried making conversation "remember the last time we went flower picking?"
"I prefer to forget that moment" he replied, closing the beginning of the conversation she had planned.
"Elijah- you're mad, I get it..." Willow had to nip this in the bud, if he thought he could just ignore her, then he thought wrong.
"I'm not mad, I can't say I'm okay, it hurts" He shrugged "I will live; I just have a lot of things to think through"
"I know, it came at the complete wrong time, didn't it?" She sighed, looking out of the window.
"No, not that" Elijah shook his head "I did come to see you. The first year you were away, June 26th, I saw you. You were in a bar, wearing a short black dress, heels that surprisingly you could walk in" Elijah described every single detail he remembered, and he remembered it all, down to the way she smelt when he brushed passed her. "You looked uncomfortable, but everyone seemed to be staring at you, you were stunning. You ordered a whiskey on-"
"-on the rocks" She finished "I did"
"I visited you every year, on that specific day, whether it was watching you from behind a window, I still came for an hour or two. I also compelled someone to leave a present on your doorstep every single Christmas Day"
"I remember finding them and wondering who they were from. The first year it was a bear, the second, a bracelet..." she went on, recalling everything that used to seem weird to her "I thought I had a stalker"
He couldn't help but smirk at her remark "no, it was me"
They car stopped as they pulled up besides an old building. Willow looked up at it before following Elijah and getting out of the Car. Freya was right, the place hadn't been touched for years, the bricks were chipping away, to the extend where she wondered if it was safe to go in.
Elijah stood at the door, holding the handles and breaking it open. He didn't really have to use sheer force, it crumbled beneath his fingers as Willow leant against the wall and watched.
"It's dark, I'll go in first and make sure it's safe, okay?"
Elijah went to step in before willow stopped him "I wanted you to stop me" she told him, being given a short amount of time to re evaluate everything with this new information, Willow realised half her argument was now
Invalid, he did visit her. Just not on the days she needed it most. "Last night, I left the door open, I waited outside for you to stop me"Elijah's heart skipped a beat and the overwhelming sense for him to just smile and kiss her there and then took him. But then he had second thoughts, those words from Bradley, echoed back in his head. Was Elijah worse for her?
"That was a mistake, I wholeheartedly regret. And I did, in fact, think about it" he tried to think everything over but he couldn't, not yet "is it okay if we finish this conversation when we return home?"
"Sure" Willow nodded ahead "be safe and call me when it's clear or if you're in danger"
Elijah disappeared into the darkness, his vision allowing him to see properly.
Willow didn't realise Elijah was too deep inside for her to call out to him. She felt something, a niggle in the back of her head, her senses beginning to vibrate.
Willow tried to stay calm, she fidgeted on the spot for a bit. Knowing if she'd move, Elijah wouldn't be able to find her.
But there were vampires nearby. She could feel it, she could taste it. It angered her, a fire rose up in the depths inside and no matter how much she tried to subdue it, she couldn't.
Willow's eyes were consumed by black as she snapped her head and followed the sound of the vampires.
Elijah didn't know she was gone. So after killing these, who knows where she'd go next?
