Klaus firmly grasped the end of Elijah's coffin, attempting to pull it out of the hole in the wall inside of the tomb they kept his body in. He tried to take it out unscratched, he had quite a lot of experience in that sector.
"What're you waiting for?" Rebekah came in and asked him, her and Freya had been waiting outside after collecting a few dark objects from the cemetery down the road, the ghost town that was inhabited by witches. They had left everything, not by choice. None of them had use for it anymore, they were all dead.
"Apologies, sister; it is not everyday you get to make a withdrawal from the bank of dead family members" Klaus pulled the Coffin out and caught it before it smashed against the floor.
"Oh yes, I remember that bank, since I've been deposited into it multiple times" Rebekah lifted one side of the coffin and pulled it, along with Klaus straight out of the doorway "come on, the quicker we get his done the quicker we get Elijah back"
They dragged the coffin outside, Rebekah moving a little faster than Klaus. Freya leant up against the wall with a rather large and full back back, almost overflowing with dark objects. "Like taking candy from a baby" she gestured towards the bag.
"A very dead baby" Rebekah remarked "right, Nik, where is the site of these massacres?"
"In the bayou, it's a straight walk, you'd be able to smell the freshly burnt flesh as soon as you pass the borders" Nik was right, the vampires had only just left the bayou after burning them to a crisp, the stench was still potent. They could follow the scent from then on.
Freya dropped the bag immediately, she couldn't particularly smell as strongly as her siblings, but she could sense the amount of power in the ground, and that was just as good.
"Spread the objects in a circle around the coffin, I'll draw from those at the same time as drawing from the ground" she grabbed a handful of objects alongside her brother and sister, placing them down in what could be classed as a circle, it was more like an oval, but it didn't matter. The coffin sat still and at the heart of everything, patiently waiting for its contents to be thrusted back into the land of the living.
Freya stood at the head of the coffin, inside the circle, her hands resting on the lid. "Whatever and whoever is inside of the circle when the spell begins will be taken into the other world" She explained "it best be only one of us, as we can't risk getting stuck, this power is only enough for one trip. And since I'm doing the spell, I will be going through"
"Be careful, sister" Klaus told her, knowing the time was nearing and she would have to enact the spell any minute now "we can't lose both of you"
"Elijah should be looking at us now, if he was he should be here with us and ready to jump through" Freya nodded "let's do it"
She grasped the coffin, her fingers gripping onto the smooth wood. Freya closed her eyes and loosened her muscles, allowing her magic to flow and feeling the magic from the ground crawl up into her bones. At first it was painful, she was never used to this amount of power all at once, but after gradually getting over it, the feeling was euphoric, it was like something she had never felt before.
Even though her eyes were closed, she could see light creep through, a sign that she was between worlds, and as her incantations got louder, so did this white noise, it was incredibly loud.
But when the light left her eyes, and the white noise quietened down until all was left was the ringing in her ears, that's when Freya opened her eyes. She was in the same spot, she could still see her siblings, but they couldn't see her.
Freya turned to them, slowly walking up and waving her hands in their faces to receive completely no reactions. She thought to spend so long in here watching the world go by, watch people move on, would be torture.
"Sister" That familiar voice seemed like music to her still ringing ears. Elijah was listening, he knew where to be and when to be there, making this job ten times easier.
"Brother, aren't I glad to see you" she ran up and wrapped her arms around him, smiling uncontrollably. She let go and held her hand out for him to take "I would say we stay and chat but we're on a timer"
Elijah took her hand and smiled widely back at her "well what are we waiting for?"
And all of a sudden, they were thrusted back. It wasn't a smooth journey like Freya had intended, like the way she had travelled here. It was more like a push, maybe because the extra power kicked in and just pushed them through before they lost magic.
Freya landed on the floor, Elijah was nowhere in sight. She looked around before realising his soul needed to be linked back into his body; and that obviously he wasn't just going to be next to her. Elijah needed to travel a little longer to get back to his body.
The coffin rattled, everyone's attention over to it. Partially fearful, nervous and excited at the same time. Rebekah cautiously walked over, unlatching the coffin lid and pushing it upright to reveal if everything had worked properly like they were expecting.
With a smile on her face, Rebekah looked down at her brother. He was alive, his eyes were open and his chest was moving with his first breaths, Elijah made eye contact with his sister and mimicked her smile.
"Hello Brother" she said
