A/N YAY!!!! My internet/computer was being very mean to me last night. But now it's my friend again! So first off, I figured out how use the multimedia thing! Go back through recent chapters to see pics of the cast. For Zach I didn't use a good one. I saw a Canada bandana and I am OBSESSED with all things Canada, so I went for it. Hope you like this chapter! I almost cried when I read back over it ;)

“Zachary David Porter, you’re smothering me,” Abby said for the millionth time that day.

Cameron laughed and squeezed her left hand for a second. They were at the store with Kate and Michael, buying groceries for the next week, and Cameron hadn’t let go of her once. “I just want to keep you safe from yourself. That medicine really made you crazy all week long.”

                “My last dose was yesterday!”

“It might still be in your system!”

“Zach,” Kate interrupted. “If she feels fine, let her go.”

Cameron dropped her hand saying, “Sorry mom.” Abby childishly stuck her tongue out at Cameron before running away laughing hard. She was screaming “FREEDOM!” at the top of her lungs, making everyone stare.

Cameron and Michael smiled broadly after each other before running after her. Michael caught up first, grabbed her good hand, and pulled her away. They turned a sharp corner and were gone. When Cameron made the turn he had to stop abruptly. He didn’t know which way they went. Apparently this had become a game of hide-and-seek. Cameron wasn’t about to give up though. He took out Zach’s phone and dialed Abby’s number.

I’m burnin’ up, it ain’t no joke.

All my cells are goin’ rogue.

I’m caught up in the blaze with no way out.

And as my self-control goes up in smoke,

One more hit I get so stoked that I, I’m glowin’ in the dark.

You lit a fire in my heart!

Cameron heard the ringtone from the next aisle over and Abby’s voice saying, “Shit!” before cutting off the song. He laughed and found them crouching in a pile of stuffed animals, their hands folded up in the lurking position. With his phone still out, he took pictures of Mike and Abby until they managed to crawl out from under all the penguins and tigers. He sent the best one to Zach, who was getting lunch with Amber and had asked Cameron to keep him updated, and then put the phone away.

“Interesting ringtone,” he said, grabbing her around the waist.

She winked and blushed, then led the way back over to Kate, who rolled her eyes at the three. “Abby, I thought you were the responsible one.” She was smiling, so Abby didn’t feel ashamed.

“Your son has been driving me crazy all week. I’m surprised he left me alone to go to the bathroom. I needed my childish moment.”

Cameron had been true to his promise to Zach that nothing would happen to Abby. When she got tired, he’d put her to bed and stay with her, reading books until she woke up. When she was overemotional, he’d wipe off her irrational tears and comfort her. When she was hormonal, he gently pushed her away instead of kissing her like she wanted. In her moments of normalcy, she claimed that he was overbearing. Cameron just wanted to do right by Zach, while keeping her from falling off of roofs.
